Dont understand the comments by the fruit machine man. i reckon he was an undesirable myself. Anyway, love this pub. always sport on and the manager and mrs are obviously working hard to look after and boost the local trade. real good sunday lunches aswell.

Went there on a Thursday night, had a good time but only stayed for one drink. Would have stayed for more but one of the darts team, a large lad, kept shouting and swearing at the top of his voice - the C word being a particular favourite.
For the short time I was there this kept on - not sure why the staff tolerated it to be honest. A few others commented on it and said they wouldn't be coming back either.
Good bar otherwise if you can tolerate your conversation being interuppted by a fog horn shouting "C**T!!" every few seconds.

I ordered a coke and I sidled over to the quiz machine and put in a quid. I played off a few quid while the publican busied himself. I vaguely remember that he was taking a phone call.
Not long later I become aware of halitosis wafting over my shoulder and it is the friendly landlord.
"look mate you're obviously intelligent but you have to take the 9 and leave. I'm switching the machine off and you are leaving." he said.
"in fact no, you can't have the 9 - you can fack off now. If you come back i'll break your fackin nose. The pub next door has called and said you was in there too."
At this point I told him that I'd had some lunch in there but this seemed to fan the flames.
"go on, fack off. If you come back I'll knock your fackin teeth out."
I don't reccomend this pub !

Pride was on and a Landlord pumpclip turned around. 3.40 a pint was the most expensive we paid in the area. The Pride was drinkable but un-inspiring. Wouldn't bother visiting again as there are a lot better pubs in the area.

Have been to the Bar Locks a few times recently both at lunchtime and after work. I don't normally write reviews, but I had to this time to say what a great atmosphere there is in this pub. Lunch is reasonably priced and is very generous and in the evenings there is a great mix of drinkers - the firemen are an obvious bonus! Whether it's a quiet bottle of wine or a larger gathering with your friends, this pub caters for everybody's needs. The biggest surprise was the dart board - why has it been such a dying trend?!

Totally agree with Random Bird best eye candy i've seen in the city in ages!! Great night out, everyone was totally up for a laugh, great mix of songs and very entertaining! Already looking forward to the next one! 'Pump up the Jam Man' be there!

I was in The Bar Locks last night and it was buzzing. There were loads of fit guys in there who were also very sociable. The atmosphere was very friendly and there was karaoke - the usual mix of very good singers and also some very entertaining singers - with the added crowd support you don't often get on karaoke nights! I will be going to this pub more frequently in the future and hope to see some of the same faces (expecially the fit ones)!

A welcome return of a pub that does what it's supposed to do. Friendly clean & welcoming, quick lively service & staff that are glad to see you. If its sport or drink or just fun banter you want then give it a try coz its too good to miss. "Oh happy days Pubs are back on the map"

Went to The Bar Locks last night with a few colleagues. What a fantastic place and a marvellous friendly atmosphere. They had a karaoke and the whole place was jumping. Can't recommend it enough.

Had a sunday meal in here a short while ago and it was top drawer!! (more than i get at home!!). Very nice pub indeed when i was in the other Sunday it had a feel of being somewhere in France or something not in the heart of sweatshop land in Aldgate. Dartboards too!!!(which is a dying thing in London). Oh and i concur the barmaids are the best in the business!!!....Oh im off there tonight as its Karaoke night apparently!!

Would really recommend this pub to everyone, it has a bit of everything there....darts, sport on tv, juke box and karaoke every other Thursday which is a great night out!!! Oh and the best barmaids in the city!
