Ok - I wanted to really like it. As other have said, a real pub vibe with a high number of well oiled patrons. It was 5pm on a Sunday afternoon.
Five real ales on and several ciders. Most locals seemed to be on cider. I went safe with a Salopian Oracle. It looked dreadful. I gently asked if it was OK and the barmaid asked Ron. Ron said Yes. I did not want to argue with Ron.
Tried a second Uley Pigs Ear. Much better.

Excellent selection of real ales and ciders including their own exclusive cider. Friendly and eccentric locals and an oustide khazi. This is a proper boozer...

Went in a few weeks ago and had some lovely BEERS

Very taken with this pub on Saturday evening. The locals were a chatty bunch, the juke box was excellent and the pool table was very popular. A selection of 5 real ales, I would have preferred less pale ale in the choices for the time of year. Black Rat perry at £2.80 a pint was a popular choice too!

Probably the friendliest pub in Tewkesbury. Five real ales five traditional ciders and lots of well known favorites. Great Staff and very friendly customers. Lovely beer garden. Dogs welcome and family friendly. What more can you ask for

A sign of a good pub is an outside shithouse...... And this pubs got one! Good range of ales and ciders, I had a nice pint of Morgan. Was busy on a Wednesday evening although it doesn't open until 5.

I have been to Tewkesbury many times but have never been in this pub before.
We were visiting relatives and taking the dog for a walk on Christmas day morning, when we walked past the White Bear. It was completely surrounded by flood water and the doors were all sand bagged. A chap shouted out "We're open if you fancy popping in" so we took him up on the offer and he provided us with some chairs to negotiate a wall avoiding having to wade through the water. Everyone was very friendly and I had an excellent pint of Bass or two. This place struck me as a proper community pub.
