Half of the pub has set tables for diners which seems to be wishful thinking for a place like this. Having said that the harveys was ok if not outstanding. Seems to be called OSCARS now. Looking at the recent name changes how long before another rebrand. OSCARS sounds like a hollywood theme bar in, er, Great Yarmouth. Never mind giving this a 5 + 1 bonus point as the real ale was better than expected.

Young loud crowd. The usual Eastbourne chavs. Cans and fag end are piling up on the pavement outside whilst the management can't be bothered to tidy up. Not particularly friendly with a pretty regular staff turn-over. Not the place for a quiet drink.

Visited here on a recent trip down to Eastbourne. Couldn't work out if its a restaurant with a bar or the other way round. Staff indifferent and loud young crowd. Not sure I'd visit again.

Happy drinking place for this area.

This venue desn't know if it's a pub or a restaurant. Priority service is given to the restaurant customers and the bar area is small. Could be a good venue but staff can be indifferent. Also attracts youngsters that can't hold their drinks, particularly at the weekends and this makes it less appealing. Desd during the week, which probably says something about indifferent staff.

Been here twice recently on midweek evenings - good selection of foods, and good value. Large portions - no complaints at all. Would recommend it to anyone.

I visited this pub for my friends party about a month ago, as we were partying into the night a brick came flying through the window. I was very glad i didnt have my children with me. I also found the management very rude and abrupt. Personally i wouldnt ever step foot in the building again. I also found the toilets very dirty and had no toilet roll. I found a long hair in my fajita which i believe to be the chefs as he doesn't tie his hair back with a net on it. A bit sickening if you ask me!!! When i tried to complain i was told they didn't need my business anyway and at this i got up and left!!!

WOW.. where does one start, i haven't been here for a long while but what a differece time makes. Previously the Beach Pub, but now the Big Apple. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, the selection of larger is great and the menu is superb. My partner and i had dinner last Saturday and the food was great along with quick service and a warm atmosphere.
I would recomend the big apple to anyone.

This big place has been pretty empty on my recent visits, but I was informed that it used to be called The Beach Pub and it had a bad reputation so a lot of the riff-raff has been barred. I was also informed that they are trying to attract a new clientele base, but Im not entirely sure their master plan is working.
I found the staff to be very friendly and some of the regulars, although it can be difficult trying to work out who is working and who is not.
There are some benches on the path outside and a big plus is that they are open until midnight every night.
