Another great night last night called in for a quick beer ended up staying for dinner and watching the Inhouse darts , and even better both royal arms teams won their games , lovely meal , had roast pork meat with bubble and squeak , new cook in the kitchen , teh landlords mum , but must say food was amazing as ever , can't wait for the summer up there

First impressions aren't great because the pub looks in need of a tidy up outside and in; and 'summer' food hours were on display all winter because no-one got round to changing them. But the friendly welcome can't be faulted, nor the three cask ales, nor the extensive menu. And what amazing food! For example, the home-made fish pie comes with three hot veg, a huge dressed salad, and garlic bread. Enough food on the plate to serve a whole family, and all for 6.99!

amazing, under new ownership, redecorated completed though, inside and out, new menu, new chef, new look, a truly old building brought back to its glory of when it was built, energetic and inspired new owners, regular music, discos, constant events, they are busy organising the events for the queens jublee, olyimpics, and farnam/hale carnival, 5 regular ales back on, what a lovly experiance in a buzzing friendley atmosphere

Signs outside this pub, proclaim that food's available 6am to 10pm, six days a week. So I go in at 2:30 for lunch and am told by the smiley guy behind the bar (who tries to deal with me whilst simultaneously holding another conversation on his mobile phone!) that there's no food because the signs apply only to summer months and they haven't got round to changing the signs yet. Today's date: 24th November!!

well I see Royal Arms has made it into the press again - and again for all the WRONG reasons!...this time for a rape case - the defendant - Haydor Khan was found not guilty ...after claiming he had sex with the wrong woman after wandering into to the wrong room at The Royal Arms ..he was "pissed out of my nut", he says , ..but nethertheless still managed the act of having sexual arousal despite having this level of alcohol in his blood ( amazing really .) So I go back to the comment made by Maria57 "this is a great family pub". I dont think so Maria - no decent Mother and Father would ever, ever bring their children to a place like this .

Well you have to speak as you find I guess and my experience at this place was as posted by me , boyz , previously . My local suggestion for the best experience of a good bar, with fantastic live music, great food and very good pricing in this area is The Funky End in Aldershot , great for families also - a great hallowe'en weekend coming up for families.
I guess we are all entitled to our opinion though, and that is mine.

I've been going to the Royal Arms regularly for some time now. The new chef is really brilliant and I have to disagree with boyz (sorry) - I've had the fajitas 4 or 5 times now and they are excellent as is the all day breakfast and several other dishes I have had. I eat there regularly for lunch and dinner, often taking valuable customers with me and I wouldn't do that if I thought I was going to be let down.

Decor-wise, it has been vastly improved over the last year and I know there are ongoing plans. The back bar has recently been renovated and turned into a great little restaurant (ate there Friday night) and it has a great ambiance in the evening with the log fire and candles. The food is DEFINATELY the best value around Farnham too. As for the beer prices - between 3pm and 8pm all beers/ciders/lagers/Guiness are 2.50 a pint (currently) which is great. I have found the quality to be consistently good too - not many pubs know how to keep real ale these days.

I must say I've always had a warm welcome from the staff and all in all I'd definately recommend the Royal Arms.

Well, me and my mates checked out some reviews and saw the one by strangernations for royal arms in Heath End.We usually go out in Aldershot but the review looked good so off we went for a 'fantastic' night out.
Well, there was 'live' music , but it was a tired old rocker band, probably the sort of thing Simon Cowell would dismiss as 'tragic' at the audition stage of the X factor. The staff.....sexy ...hmmmm..maybe the staff wrote that about themselves, who knows? So on to the 'sizzleing fajitas', well, they were about the same as the spelling 'sizzleing'...bad!! Beer prices were not particularly cheap , you'd get better deals in any bar in Aldershot.
So we decided to leave and go back into Aldershot, and that's when we found the one good thing about the Royal Arms - the car park!
We didn't have to walk far to get back to our car and drive off back to the best bars around - and they were in Aldershot! We will be avoiding coming this way again..

Wow! What a surprise!! I popped back into this pub after avoiding it for a few years to meet up with some friends. It was fantastic!
There was live music and the place was 'buzzin'; new restaurant out the back and a fab menu- try the sizzleing fajitas!! YUM! What a transition, the staff were all female and ALL SEXY!!! Even more, they do promotions that easily compete with the major Aldershot and Farnham pubs. Becks was right cheap and JD - my faves...
Try it - you'll be pleasantly surprised!

What's going on in this pub. It's the Summer time, and a huge pile of logs are in the car park. Drive past next day and they are gone. Is this a sideline to the pub. It always looks shabby. I wouldn't set foot in this place again ever, ever, unfriendly, and unhelpful. A lorry park at the weekend and come to think of it a park for anyone who wants to leave their vans there. Looks really scruffy.

This pub has tried to upgrade the outside garden area - and that is quite good, unfortunately what they really need to attend to is the interior, toilets were filthy - looked as though they had not been cleaned in a while. lights also not working, They had run out of some beers when I visited and wine was not available for my female guest. Our food was undercooked when it arrived (late). I very much got the feeling the staff just cared about the (limited) regular clientele. Newcomers were kept waiting to be served. Poor.Would not visit again.

A great pub with a really friendly landlord/ landlady and always a warm welcome. Not pretentious but just a lovely local pub with ample outside space for the warmer weather.

Good beers and good selection of wine. The food, both at lunchtimes and in the evening, is superb and good value.

Really like a pub with an open fire and this one has a fire in both bars. Pool table is always a goer for me too.

Recommend for either a quick beer on the way on to somewhere else or for the night.

Nice pub with outside playing area and large car park - wasn't sure what to have off the menu as it had about 60 choices but food did look ok.
beermonster1984 - 21 Apr 2008 21:16
Toni and John Paul have turned this pub into something special. Great atmosphere, loads of outside space, new varied menu cooked by the lovely Cassie, guest beers and friendly staff. Something for everyone with the home cooked food and the two well stocked bars.
