Basic but comfortable interior, friendly and relaxed staff, decent beer, and tasty pie. There was a problem with the food, but they spotted it before I did. Bit expensive, but maybe not for the location.

Average pub. Often very busy 5-7 ish but otherwise fine all round. Tills regularly fail which can cause amusement. Have heard food is very slow at lunchtimes - 40 minutes for a sandwich!

Fairly average central London boozer with a single bar and a couple of real ales - Adnams Bitter & Sharps Doom Bar. Addlestones was the cider. It was reasonably busy on our late Friday afternoon visit. But we still managed to grab a table. The computerised tills had failed, which seemed to be creating some confusion.

This is a great pub. I'd avoid between 5-7pm when it's quite busy, but after that it's a really nice place to have a drink. Some of the best traditional British pub lunches in Clerkenwell too. Great for late lunch and drink.

This is a great little pub hidden away just off Clerkenwell Road - the best in Clerkenwell are. Really good drinks, service, and atmosphere.

Been to this pub a few times now and i think its lovely, the barstaff are nice and friendly and they do a dice game between 3 and 6 mon to fri, If you throw double 6 the drink is on the house, throw a odd number then its half price and even is full price...its a very clean pub now called The Hat and Tun

Given Strongers failure to get a beer at the weekend (they close at the weekend except for private parties) I felt obliged to pay a visit, which I did last Monday. Thankfully there was no private party on and indeed not much else going on. I was the only customer in there at 5.30 although a couple more drifted in ready for the Monday night quiz. Fairly typical of a city wannabe gastropub but has retained some traditional characteristics. Its a nice looking pub with wood floors, lots of wood panelling and some large mirrors and etched glass. Nice and bright due to the large windows and high ceilings. There are some rather macabre stuffed animals mounted either side of the bar, badgers, foxes, stags antlers, even a couple of boars heads. Service was good and the barman was very chatty. Three handpumps, London Pride and two Adnams, I had a couple of pints and both were OK but served far too cold.
As stated before the pub is now named the Hat & Tun. Bit of a shame as the old name Deux Beers was quite apt given its location in the Hatton Garden diamond trade area.

I walked into here on Saturday evening at around 20:30 and after standing at the bar for 20 seconds a young barmaid came over and asked me to leave as it was a private party. It would have helped if there had been someone on the door or maybe even a sign suggesting the exclusivity of the night.
No wonder the only other review is informing of a name change.

Now called The Hat and Tun - opened as such in November 2008
