A very pleasant & unexpected old fashioned pub amongst the OTT modernism of Cardiff bay. The service was excellent, especially as the bar lady managed a conversation with me, another bloke & a loud & loquacious lady, simultaneously. Respect. My pint of Brain's SA (3.00) was satisfactory, as was the whole experience.

Locals pub, which is surprising due to its location. Wood floor with tiles around the bar, chairs and sofa's etc. Does have nice leaded windows with the pub name and brewery incorperated. A group of loud locals were conversing with the loud barmaid when i was in. Brains SA £3.00 was ok.

Only the Packet and the White Hart remain, from the boom years of the docks. Old fashioned and friendly with good beer.

Similar comments as per City Arms really. A surviving unpretentious Brains city boozer. I am fairly certain it has been reconstructed internally, possibly several times. I am also led to believe that some parts of the decor were transposed from a famous Barry pub ? The stained glass/leaded windows are a nice feature and very much trad Cardiff Brains pub. Anyway, good traditional feel and well kept SA.

Proper locals pub, doesn't try to be fancy. could do with a bit of a spruce up but the locals don't seem to mind.

SA on tap, small beer garden. Down to earth place, that seems to be used by locals - rather than visitors.

Traditional boozer that has survived despite the nearby regeneration of Cardiff Bay. Does what it says on the tin, as they say.
