Good beer guide entry 2019.
Converted Salvation Army Hostel of all things. No a smart brick and wood pub, with a central bar and seating all around.
Plenty of real ale choice and the Bathams in top condition for £3.30.

Packed to rafters for our late Sunday afternoon visit in which we were serenaded by a free and easy guitar strummer which then turned into a combination of an open mic session and karaoke. Sounds dubious but the general conviviality and boisterously good natured atmosphere put us at our ease very quickly. Add this to a good selection of well kept ales (unfortunately I can't recall what I had) and the Lyndon appears to be a safe bet for a return visit. Against expectations we preferred it to the more reputable Black Country Arms which is located nearer the centre of town. Be advised there is a policy about wearing caps indoors and I was promptly asked to remove mine - but I had forgotten it was still perching on my bonce. Somewhere between 7 & 8/10.

First port of call on 3 May to celebrate the mighty U’s remaining in league 1, and winning at Walsall to boot. Had a couple in here, very pleasant interior, central island square bar and friendly local who corrected my pronunciation of Bathams a local ale, which was pleasantly bitter and a good start. Moved onto the Burton Bridge Golden Delicious which was fine. 5 or 6 ales on including a mild which my mate had and enjoyed, the other being the brewer from Suffolk that we don’t mention. That apart a very good place for a relaxing drink. 7/10

Great pub not far from st matthews church. Probably more reminiscent of a country style pub inside, 6 plus ales on the pull. Not the biggest but if you go outside there is a massive patio that is never ending. Be great for a summer drink. If you are in walsall its a must visit!

A pleasant, friendly local with well kept ales. Wifi a very handy bonus too. Well worth a visit, highly recommended!

been here a few times always around 5 real ales on quality is fine nice mixed age group worth a visit.

Very comfortable pub just outside the Town Centre. Beer very good and my friend and I both agreed that we have never seen so many bar staff behind a bar so small! Although we visited early Saturday evening the place was packed with people of all ages which is always a good sign. Well worth seeking out and spending more time in.

The house bitter is from Theakstons and the one of our group who had it also said insipid. The Golden Delicious was OK, but the Holdens Golden Glow was below par - very disappointing for a current GBG pub. 5 of the 6 ale handpumps were pale beers, plus Abbot.

Old style square bar lay out with more of a pub feel to it than your average hotel bar. Five ales on - of which Kelham Pale Rider was the unusual suspect and the 'House' bitter an unknown one. I tried the house bitter which was a little insipid. (not sure who brews it) Would drop back in if in the vicinity.

I'd not been in here for years. It's rather nice: A genuine pub as well as the hotel. Cosy and traditional inside, great beer, good staff.
|
Friendly and helpful bar staff and a good choice of reasonably priced beers made our visit a pleasant experience. A mixed clientele including some members of the Peterborough police force. Would certainly call again when in Walsall.

Traditional-looking hotel building, which includes the Lyndon Bar to the left as you enter. This is slightly more rustic in appearance than I was expecting, but offers a reasonable range of real ales from six handpumps. I opted for their 'house' bitter (not sure who brews it) at 2.40 which was fine. As it was good weather the side patio and multi-level rear terraced beer garden were very busy (with a seemingly older and more well-heeled clientele than most town centre-ish pubs). Well worth seeking out.

In here before Saints win at the Bescott on 5 December. Standard beers as referred to below plus Holdens Old Nick. Decent boozer, cozy and welcoming.

Friendly, cosy pub right by the main shopping area with a roaring fire in winter and a decent selection of ales. Went in with my mate last night and he got a round in with me standing next to him; I went up for the next round and the barmaid asked "same again?". It wasn't, as we were working our way through the guest ales, but it was a nice touch.

Update: A fantastic climbing plant covered detached hotel building, with, beer patio and an Italian restaurant at the back.
The interior of the bar is open plan around a square wooden bar area in the middle. The decor is a combination of that horrid nicotine coloured textured wallpaper, wood panel, wood beam and brick, with lots of old pictures of Walsall, prints, brass ornaments and coloured glass. The service tends to be functional, as its so often very busy. The clientele tend to be the mid to maturer type.
Beer; apart from the tap tosh, there are 5 handpulls with; Theakston's MILD (class and the only drink i have here), Abbotts, Deuchars IPA, Courage Directors and a house bitter.
Always visit this great place, one of my favourites in Walsall

A traditional pub and hotel in Walsall. We stopped here for a quick drink the Saturday before last on our visit. Five hand pulls were in action however never took notes. I know the regulars of Theakston Mild, Courage Directors, Abbot and Lyndon House Branded Bitter were present. I had the guest which I cannot remember but know it was a Welsh ale. The pub area looked very traditional and most customers seemed to be enjoying themselves, eating or drinking. The food looked good and seemed reasonably priced. We would have stopped for food but part of our group went straight to The Black Country Arms so we left to join them.

Favourite Walsall Pub for me! Bar within hotel complex, serving good real ale in homely (though often busy) atmosphere. Central bar area with seating in the bay windows and around the room, and also outside patio in fine weather and for smokers, and a second outside seating area at the rear.
Five hand pulls, serving Lyndon House own Bitter, Theakstones Mild, Courage Directors and two other beers, one an every changing Guest ale. Directors is always excellent, as are all the beers, never had a bad pint in here. Reasonable prices, and excellent value food and sandwiches served mid-day, with generous portions.
Cosy atmosphere with roaring log fire in winter months make this a popular and pleasant place for a beer and chat - and maybe lunch too.

The Lyndon House attracts a mixed crowd in terms of age. Its a very nice, friendly place which, I am told gets very busy on a Friday and Saturday evening. I visited on Saturday 19 July with my good friend the Archivist and his mate JB. The real ales were superb!

i really like this place, pop in often. Bar is a square in the middle of the room and without too many people it seems to get hot and stuff, but serves real ales and more importantly, Theakston's Mild - and yes, its great
