Very interesting pub - more to it than would be suggested from the outside.
All partitioned rooms - nick knacks - roaring fires and great St Austell Beers.
Recommended.

Beautiful old building with lots of character, St. Austell ales in cracking form and a lovely scrumpy cider. Nice food, friendly service, just great all round!

A great pub and makes a standard by which others should be judged. A place full of character and quality drinks. I'd give it ten out of ten and I am hard to impress. It's also dog-friendly which is a great bonus.

Popped in recently for a quick drink and immediately regretted a) driving and b) booking a table for a meal elsewhere. Wonderful old building, full of character, friendly staff and the menu looked divine. My Betty Stogs was kept just as it should be, 2 other Cornish beers on and my wife tried the Skinners lager which was fine. A top pub, wish we could have stayed longer.

Some good reviews below and I have to say, I wholeheartedly agree with them. This is a really lovely pub in just about every way you could possibly want. The building itself is full of character. Lots of little nooks and crannies and unexpected rooms. A roaring fire next to the bar and if that's not required, a nice garden with views of the stunning Cornish countryside. The welcome was extremely friendly (not always the case with non-locals in Cornwall!) and the beer beautifully kept. We enjoyed it so much on our first visit that we went back later in the week for lunch and the food was fantastic as well. Burgers in particular are obviously homemade and with damn good quality beef as well. The fact that this place is 3 miles down a country lane in the middle of nowhere but appears to attract a roaring trade says it all in my opinion. One of the best pubs I've ever been to (and that's a lot of pubs, I can tell you !!). Can't wait for another opportunity.

Enjoyed a great pint of Betty Stoggs in their lovely a beer garden, overlooking the majestic Cornish countryside. This is the first time I've ever been in - rumour has it that the Bush is under new ownership who've changed the wierd opening times that always thwarted us in the past. It's miles off the beaten track, but don't let that put you off.

Excellent pub, very cosy, locals friendly and food was stonkingly good - best fish & chips I've had in YEARS! Beers were Trubute, HSD and Skinners Lager, all well kept and very moreish... Best pub I've been to in a long time apart from the Mutual Friend in Stevenage and definately one of the best ever in Cornwall and SW.

THE finest pub I have ever been into. Stumbled upon it when spending a long weekend in North Cornwall. Ale is well kept, top landlord, food is excellent. Roaring fire, wonderful atmosphere, proper ye olde bar furniture. The Gents is outside across a cobbled yard - when I was there it was dark and raining with a strong wind coming in off the sea - I half expected to see Blackbeard at the urinal next to me. In fact, If a pirate had walked into the bar in full costume no one would have batted an eyelid - bloody marvellous. In fact it is so good it is worth dropping whatever you are doing right now and driving from wherever you are in the UK to The Bush for a quick pint!

Really enjoyed our 2 visits and it's well worth the drive. Ales were HSD & Tribute as well as a Cornish guest Cousin Jack. Lovely atmosphere and the locals are friendly.Their Chef was top notch and the GFs Veggie dish was very tasty. A REAL FIND.
