Great location - dog friendly and a lovely wood burner down the bottom part of the pub. Palmers range on but was surprised at the prices - £4.15 for the 200. This seemed expensive to me.

The location of the pub is spot on...right on Broadchurch - sorry West Bay beach though oddly it seems to be the wrong way round ie facing away from the sea. Never mind, the beer, though expensive, was in decent nick and the food is pretty good esp. the Hake. There may be better pubs in Bridport area (The Tiger immediately springs to mind) but this will do you ok if in this lovely little harbour town.

decent sort of place, beer was okay, just the dorset gold and best bitter on when I visited, but both were in good enough order, though I found the gold a little sweet for my taste, the food was good with out being great and the service was spot on and the restaurant area was cosy and comfortable , all in all a decent place for a meal and a beer

Beer was fine! Palmers Gold. Food was OK - mussels were fresh, I think and my wife stuck with the scampi. Sat outside on a hot September afternoon which was fine apart from the picnic benches - very 80's and uncomfortable. Staff friendly

Food oriented, family friendly, pub next to the village's main car park. Two bars plus a formal restaurant mainly for residents at the rear. Main bar is restaurant styled with tables and chairs and a balustraded area and has a restaurant atmosphere. The smaller bar is more cafe like, transport rather than Cafe Royal. West Bay isn't Southend or Blackpool so the dcor is quite refined for a seaside place, there are lots of nautical themed photos and old photos of the area. Maybe we were luckier this summer than previous reviewers but we found it well staffed with young, enthusiastic people. The draught beers from Palmers, IPA and Dorset Gold were both in good condition and much better than in the George. There is a fairly standard range of kegs from Stella, and Carlsberg, with cider from Gaymers and Thatchers and the inevitable Guinness.

In full agreement with earlier conntributors. We were served by indifferent female with poor example of Palmers Best. Rather more friendly when we left after one pint.

nice location but poor slow service mundane food and poorly kept beer. Obviously geared up to the tourist trade in the summer, and struggling somewhat in winter.

Ate here - good food at value and happy to accomodate our young kids. Not overly exciting but certainly no need to avoid.

The location next to the beach and near to the caravan park/camp site means that to chase the dollar they have decided on a quantity over quality business plan.
As a result, while it serves it's purpose, it has lost any character that it may once have had. While there is nothing shocking about it, there are few, if any, high points.
If you are looking for a proper pub in West Bay, head for The West Bay about 75 yards down the road.

Once a great pub the developers have spoilt it. Overpriced beer in not very good condition, I tend to have a pint before going up the cliff towards Seatown.

This place is surviving on its location rather than any effort being put in to make it a decent pub. The most expensive place in West Bay by far but with the worst customer service. Slow barstaff, empty glasses piled up around the bar and if I want to sit next to a screaming child I'll go down the park, not a pub.
