If you ever visit Warwick this pub has the best beer In a town with some very decent pubs. As the previous reviewer said it is old school but better for it,various channels showing sport,a pool table and very busy.9/10

Nice larger pub, though in the old school style as opposed to the modern drinking barn style. Decent ales on (the best bitter went sown well).

Voted Heart of Warwickshire campaign for real ale pub of the year 2014. This is the best pub in Warwick with 5 changing real ales on offer a good food menu, the sunday lunches are very good. Closed on Mondays.

Called into the Punch bowl for and evening meal and a pint. Found it comfortable and welcome. The food was great and really good value and the choice of beers was excellent. Its worth taking time to look around the pub and the old pictures of Warwick on the wall. If your in Warwick dont miss out on this place, a traditional old fashioned pub with great food and beer.

Large echoey pub just outside the city centre. Decent choice of well-kept ales and the place certainly has character.

In Warwick only last week and stopped here on recommendation. There was a decent choice of ales on offer as well as friendly staff. Pleasent enough and amongst the best pubs in Warwick.

Top notch local, great atmosphere and excellent Landlord. Just on the edge of the main part of town, but on taking the short cut from the station across the park it's the first pub you come to. They sell Oakwell beers at a price not seen anywhere else in Warwick, apart from the awful Spoons, often they have the latest seasonal. The pub feels relatively new and opened out, but in fact it's very old. The food looks good, but untried by us. Decent outside seating area at the front.

Ideal location, looks nice inside, feels like a real homely pub. That is until you taste the beer. I drink a variety of beers but on my two occations of visiting this pub I drank the local lager (They did not have any of the best sellers or german beer). Not my taste. I wish this pub would compromise and keep it's mansfield or whatever the beer is, together with good German , Belguim or good local warwickshire beer. Hope to visit again soon, a crying shame !!

Was told about this pub by a mate so I went there last week. Lady behind the bar (Anjii?) was very friendly and certainly knew the brewery history. They only serve 2 beers-one bitter and one mild. I tried the Barnsley bitter and it was one of the tastiest bitters I have ever had and I started drinking beer back in the late 50's...when it was 8p a pint (in new money!!)The sanwiches we had were excellent and we will definitely come to this great pub on our next visit to Warwick.

Stumpled across this place by chance whilst heading towards the station. This is a gem of a local. It has history and shows. The atmosphere is very much there. Has been refurbished but not lost its charactor. It is an old coaching inn. The one quick pint I had of the Acorn 'Barnsley Bitter' had every sign of a well kept beer, served well at a good temperture.

This is not a top pub but is still an all round good place.
|
Great place good food. The mild is 1.45 and very good stuff.
