Old school town pub serving decent ale
|
The Woodland is a nice local pub, just far enough away from the town centre to maintain a quiet feel. It is a proper boozer where conversation dominates, despite a couple of TVs that were showing the tennis. A friendly pub dog completes the picture. I was somehow expecting a better range of ales though. There were 3 - Slaughterhouse Saddleback, Caledonian Kick Off & Wychwood Hobgoblin Gold. Ciders were Thatchers Cheddar Valley & Westons Rosie's Pig. Has a cuckoo clock on the wall and it works!

One of leamingtons excellent local pubs. Only 1 ale which is Brewed locally slaughter house saddleback bitter but 4 pumps and others often on I'm told. All the other drinks you would expect from a pub. Plenty to see inside from a good selection on brewerana to lot of photos of locals.

Great pub with lovely beer and friendly staff. They welcome all and always make room. There's a nice sanguine dog that's no bother. Courtyard for smoking, large back room for functions and a nice curved bar area with a decent jukebox and darts. You can get the best tasting and best priced pint of Slaughterhouse in town here. Highly recommended to all.

Not my local, its about 40 mins travel (bus and walk) from my house but I go there all the time and don't drink in many other places. Its a 'proper' old pub with two seperate rooms, quiz and fruit machines, darts and a jukebox in each room that work seperately. The staff are very friendly and the pub dog is friendly but quiet. Outside is a wonderful mural of local people out and about in the town with lots of little jokes to spot. A covered smoking area is available also.

I hadn't been in this place for a while. It was the same as ever. Yes its in need of a bit of a refurb. But for a local has character and charm. Only one beer on offer Saddleback bitter 3.8% from slaughterhouse brewery. Nice to have a local pub who serves local beer. The beer was served well and still had plenty of life even when I finished it. 7/10

Calm, relaxing and resolutely untrendy. There aren't many traditional two roomed pubs like this left and with the added attraction of Slaughterhouse beers it's a must if you want a decent pint in convivial surroundings.

This is my local. It is a lovely little place and one of the few around her to serve 'Slaughterhouse' beers and know how to serve them.
