It's re-opened again, possibly with new management

This pub has closed in the last couple of weeks.
The sign on the door says Closed Until Further Notice.
The Teddington People website says Richmond CAMRA thinks it's to do with a rent rise.

Went to the bloated Mallard for Sunday lunch . Found the bar staff friendly and helpful , and the Twickenham ales where excellent , Food menu was a disappointment as the Sunday menu was not available . So the choices were a bit limited. In saying that, the lamb shank that most of us tried was pretty good . The only down side was, it was a warm day ,and the staff couldn't seem to open any of the windows to let some air in . So the place was a bit stuffy . But on the whole not bad . Would go again !

The mallard is easily my favourite pub in teddington great staff really friendly, great food and local beers on tap make this place a must if your in the area. The function room upstairs is amazing and firmed the perfect back drop to our wedding reception. The owner and all the staff were so helpful and made sure we had a proper day to remember. 11 out of 10 stars :D

Unimpressed with this place after visiting on Sun. The Sun lunch menu comprised of 3 main courses (their sample menu online had at least 10!) and out of the two we went for, both were very mediocre. The staff were also uninterested in our views of the food. Would def not recommend for food and as the place was fairly empty I assume everyone else has already discovered this. Needs to up it's game.

Beautiful design, very relaxed with a fabulous atmosphere. I love the decor, very friend owner, only people of an artist natural would enjoy what the owner is trying to achieve, and he most certainly got it right, well done.

quirky place that may not be to every one's taste, but if you like eclecticism, good service, and a good atmosphere, you could do a lot worse....

Twickenham Naked Ladies and Sundancer and London Pride. Certainly a strange decor and very gastro looking but mid Saturday afternoon has the feel of a decent pub. If you are a Harry Potter fan there are a few photos to check out.

Impressed with the transformation! Unfortunately it is more popular than they have space to cater for! Brilliant place, very welcoming with an interesting mix of customers! Hats of to the owner! Often says hello to me certainly my choice of pub for Teddington! Food is outstanding too!

Good atmosphere and music. Friendly place full of nice people, all the bar staff were attentive.

Went in here for the first time recently. Gastropub with imaginative decor. Good food but beer was naff which let it down.

Not really sure what the fuss is all about really. Ventured there on a Friday evening and managed to find a couple of seats after doing a couple of laps of the bar area.
In the half an hour or so we were there, people walked in the front door, looked bemused due to there being not much space or anywhere to sit. They then walk around in a circle trying to find somewhere to go, and end up where they started by the front door..!
I didn't find it friendly, or a particuarly warm atmosphere to be honest. Think it will be my first and last visit.

I'm really not too sure what this place is trying to be, its certainly not my idea of a traditional pub, unless zebra striped seat cushions and tea lights are suddenly de rigeur. I had arranged to meet a mate here as its next to the station; entered to find three unclipped handpumps, no one behind the bar. I never found out if they served any real ale as my mate turned up and we left. I believe The Bloated Mallard is meant to be some kind of skit on the famous Fat Duck. Personally I just think its a silly name.

This pub is a jewel to be found! We attended a party recently in their fantastically decorated function room and were so impressed we went back last week for a meal which didn't disappoint us! We cannot recommend this pub enough it is stylish, comfortable and a great atmosphere try it !!

Best pub in Teddington by a mile! The owner is a lovely bloke!
Food is now the nuts, due to the new chef Martha.
Great atmosphere with the log fires now blazing away!

I can only think that maybe the new owners have rated this place as 10/10 because it's awful on several levels. On the night I was last in I struggled to hear myself above the hooray at the bar trying to impress some girls and the real ale was off (it was about 9.30pm on a Friday night, hardly off-peak). To top it all off the loos are now virtually in the pub, squeezed into the ground floor area to one side of the bar, and the place looks like it was decorated by Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen on acid. Teddington has far more and far better to offer.
