Thankfully re-opened and now reverted to its original name, the Royal Albert. Not been in yet, but it looks fantastic. A proper wood-filled eccentric boozer. Nice one!

I think they had trouble because of the previous owner. Such a shame it was the best place in NX to drink! Although they did charge door entry even though they didn't have a late licence or music some nights. But please come back!

It seem slike the Paradise Bar or the Six String Bar has closed down again. What's happened? Has the council been causing trouble again?
|
the paradise bar is now called the Six String bar and is now open, playing rock pop funk blues jazz and indie. no r'b or garage. the bar is open from 11 - 11 and will soon have live music every day of the week. the grand opening is on wed the 23 of march all welcome.

*newsflash* Well, not quite new news, but it be an update...the place has had it's troubles, the council have tried to shut the place down and succeeded. Last I heard the place was going for brand new management and a change of tack - a veggie restaurant! Minxy, you're missed, you did some great stuff down there.

Great nights, lively bar, lovely bouncers. Dance and meet eclectic and interesting peeps. 8/10

No point going at the moment cause the late night drinking is done and that pub is nothing without it.

Great pub, great music, great atmosphere. Always the best place to go for a late night drink to finish off the night.

A music bar with cheap drinks and promotions and a very friendly, laid back atmosphere - only six miles from Central London in the bohemian art/music drenched area of London South East X. Lovely place unbothered by being trendy etc, it is also an evening community centre for music people with Open Mic, Funk, Rock N Roll, Jazz, Drum N Bass, Reggae, Soul/Hip Hop clubs and nights

Never anyone in there until eleven o clock, but this doesn't stop the music from being loud enough to rupture an ear drum or two - good happy hour prices though.

Bridging the limbo of Pub and Bar, The Paradise Bar has a wide cross section of events inclusive of Live Muscic, DJ's and special events each night of the week.
These could include Indie/Punk on Tuesdays, The World famous Jazz Jam sessions on Wednesdays, R'n'B HipHop on Thursdays and special club nights on the weekend which is open until 4am.
There is something for everyone everynight here and there is a high diversity of clientele.
Drinks may seem a tad overpriced but is compensated by being one of the only remaining venues in the area to showcase live music.
Friendly and helpful staff (wouldn't be surprised if they were chosen by some screening process - yes they look real good male or female!) and overall, a universally acceptable atmosphere.
