This amazing building is a fine pub with bar billiards, a small telly and sells Hurlimann. The guy behind the bar was very friendly and accommodating by putting the rugby on for us. Theres a lovely, cozy feeling inside. Highly recommended. Don't be put off by the low rating, it should be much higher.

Went back last night and have to say how dissapoited i was , from the outside this pub looks stunning but when you walk in your over powered by the smell of wet dog and its in need of major TLC what a shame was going to eat there but decided agaist it

I went in there yesterday for lunch and was told that were not doing food which was odd?!? the nice lady behind the bar told us to try the black pig in staple and was glad we did , she also said not to bother with the griffins head as they dont like kids!

was taken over 2 years ago by a young couple and all seemed promising with a redecoration and good food. However this is definitely more of a restaurant than a pub, the landlord rarely leaves the kitchen and the bar is staffed by a different person every night it seems. There is no longer a billiards, bat and trap or darts team. Audible rows between landlord and landlady can often be heard in the bar which leads to a fairly bad atmosphere in the place, maybe they've taken on too much too soon.
