Has been refurbished and re-opened as a Turkish restaurant.

It does'nt look as if this pub will be re-opening soon as there is a 'freehold for sale' sign on the place now.
|
According to the local free newspaper this place has had its licence suspended for 3 months (subject to appeal) for allowing under age drinking, out of hours drinking and failing to control rowdy behaviuor etc, it only remains to be seen what will happen to this pub.

come here a couple of weeks ago. dont go to this pub, full of pikeys, not unless you like fighting. the landlady is a pikey lover, and within a few months will have lost control of the pub, this pub is always going to be doomed.

Used to be a regular in the pub but under this latest new management (within the last month or so) I can say that the place really has gone down hill and I no longer frequent it. For a friendlier drink I suggest either the White Hart across the road or the Cricketers which is a little stroll away

Went in the other Sunday, the pub was freezing, there was no one there aside from a few hardy souls (possibly eskimoes,) watching the footie on the TV and a few families.
The much trumpted choice of real ale was not there and it all looked a bit sad.
It seems odd as there are now only 3 pubs on quite a busy high street and it seems that whatever anyone does, no one cann make a go of this place.
This is a real shame but if there is no decent beer, the punters won't come.
A short walk round the corner to the Cricketers found a pub that was warm and buzzing.

Been to this pub a few times now at the weekends since it reopened in july and always have a good time. Live music is great. Nice crowd and the bar staff are friendly. Worth a visit..probably the only decent pub in Orpington now!

Went in here on Friday night nice selection of real ales which seem well kept and reasonably priced the place wasn't too crowded even though there was live music on lets hope this pub survives as its the sort of thing we need in Orpington.

Now re-opened under new(competent)management. Good selection of real ales properly kept and reasonably priced. Good pub food served daily 1-4pm and a home-cooked Sunday roast available (11.00 for 2). Live bands 2/3 times a week with an open mic night on Wednesdays. Worth a visit particularly on Wednesdays or if Wasted Aces are playing - great local band.

Oh dear, this didn't last long did it? It was always empty when I went in but in saying that the beer range if not exciting was at least served well.
One of the problems seemed to be that it was a bit of a fish out of water, neither a real ale boozer nor a gastropub nor indeed a music venue. It tried to be a bit of everything and failed. Perhaps they missed a trick here as what Orpington is missing is a decent family pub serving good beer and good food to the (quite large ,) family market that exists in the area. The only pub in the area that welcomes (if you can call it that is the Wetherspoons and whilst that has its plus points, it also has drawbacks.
I hope someone else gives it a go as that part of the high street needs a decent real ale outlet to rival spoons.
Only time will tell.

Appears to be closed as there is a note in the window saying "closed until further notice sorry for any inconvenience" so I don't no what's happened there then.

Have been going to the tavern for a couple of months now. The pub has a great atmosphere everyone is friendly. They sell real ales and quality lagers if you want a decent pint this is the place! They have a open mic night every Monday night. The house band Jack's Back is really good! If you like Rock/blues type music you will want to see them. They also do a jazz night every sunday, not really my kind of music but still enjoyed the evening. Would definitely recommend!!

my mates went in there had one pint then left, due to it being overpriced.(i was supposed to meet them there)but they decided to leave before i got there.from what i heard about the place i may be wrong, but trust me i will visit
