Boar's Head, Kidderminsterback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
You wouldn't think it from the outside. But the Boar's Head is a rockers pub situated near the town centre. It has two rooms, which give way to a semi-outdoor performance area and a garden beyond. There is also a corridor providing more drinking space. Plenty of skulls and the like, in addition to some rather large speakers give a clue as to what this place is like in the evening. During the day, it was much more genteel. Hobgoblin & Hobgoblin Gold were the 2 ales. No real cider was available.

Typical rock orientated boozer, limited beer selection` black décor, plastic skulls and dodgy toilets - Kidderminster's answer to the long missed `Costas` in Brum. essential haunt for the alternative crowd.

A revisit after four years by the looks of it.
Still exactly as I remember it. Just a lot less people.
Great music on the Jukebox.

The good news is that its back open! This used to be a fantastic pub.... that busy that they had a seperate bar at the end of the courtyard to cater for the demand of people who couldn't get into the pub. On a rainy saturday night in May 2011, there were around 10 people in total. I sat there and contemplated the decline in the pub industry - my only ideas were a "bring your own beer" policy, like they do in balti houses. Haven't worked out the commercials yet :-).
Still a terrific pub for atmosphere, great music (Selector, Beat took me back in time) and a little bit of history into pop sub culture, as among the 10 were a punk, rasta and ska boy.

Another good pub bites the dust - thanks Banks'.

Oh dear oh dear.....would it be too much to ask the new landlord to get in a choice of beers? (i.e. other than one....usually Hobgoblin) The crowded studenty nights of 12 months ago are well and truly over as all the regulars have obviously found other haunts......not sure of the music nights as I can't afford to drink there at 2-85 a pint ! (Feb 2010)

A favourite for college students in term-time, so plenty of pretty young ladies around!! Its one of the few live music venues in the town, although the bands vary widely in quality. Although the choice of guest beers usually extends to at least 3, the quality (like the music) is often very variable, from good to totally undrinkable. The prices are very high too, presumably to pay for the bands.

This is a popular town centre Victorian pub that is now in the Good Beer Guide. It is very interesting to wander round, and has a heated courtyard. I enjoyed a Jennings beer here.
