Village Inn, Nailsworthback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
The pub is okay but the ale (The Mayors brewed on site) was dreadful and I left it.

We used to live nearby and were excited when we heard about the brewery and pub, but unfortunately we moved away just before the pub opened. It's taken more than 5 years to pay our first visit, which was a brief pint on Boxing Day evening.
This place is much larger than it looks from the outside, and was cosy and welcoming. Between us we tried a couple of different Nailsworth brews, which were both excellent.
My only criticism is that the atmosphere was spoiled by piped music (techno of some description), a peculiar style of music for a pub and far too loud for around 6pm - we had to raise our voices to speak. In my opinion the pub would be greatly improved by getting rid of it altogether.
Having said that, we shall definitely return and I hope to arrange for a proper session with friends that live in the area.

On 2 visits to this pub and brewery over the past year things ar not as they were. Beer range available which are brewed on site much reduced but in good condition. Both times the locals had to rescue the fire to warm the place up a bit. Will continue to call in hen in the area and hope things pick up.

Paid a visit on Monday 25th April. Not sure what has happened since my last visit!
All the beers bar one were cloudy and not in good condition.
Shame, as I really like this pub, hopeing this is a one off.

Not visited for almost a year but still as good as ever and beer was spot on! Nice mixed crowd on the Friday eve I visited too. Just wish I lived closer.

Lovely beer. Great range too. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Haven't tried the food yet. If I do, and it's good, my rating will go up.

Wow, my very first visit and maybe not exactly what I was expecting from the start but very enjoyable none the less ......
Multi roomed pub on different levels and as (expert!) reviewer Quinno rightly stated multi abounding in wood .... it's everywhere! :-) Went in on a very busy Friday night and although, which rather surprised me for a brewery outlet & real ale pub, the average age of the punters was early 20's the atmosphere was excellent and welcoming and even an old git like myself found most punters very polite & friendly which I must say was really nice. The beer was superb (and very cheap!) with "The Artist's Ale" being the standout brew for me by far but all the other beers enjoyed by my party were frankly just as good. So? Love it, love it, love it!!!
The chippy next door is also a welcome post pub situation especially with a bag of chips being a mere 1.10 - Well worth a visit to The Village Inn then !!! :-)

Slightly unusual place upon entering. The interior appears to be very new, but in an old-fashioned way. The small of new wood is almost overpowering. There's been an effort to make the inside late-1800's in character, lots of little alcoves, nooks and crannies, which is great and fits in well with the shell of the building, which I guess must be 150 years old at least.
Building houses a brewery (Nailsworth) downstairs, which supplies the pumps upstairs. The beer range and quality produced are excellent.
The trio of female hostesses were friendly and kept pace with our busload of beer tourists well.
All in all, a nice place, with very local beer(!) and I'd recommend it straight away. Would expect to improve further as the interior beds down.
