A smarter option in a village that is blessed with a number of Good Beer Guide pubs none of which really scale the heights. A local beer from Rugby went down well and the restoration is lovingly done if veering on the soulless. Judo from the Commonwealth Games was on the telly with none of us any wiser as to the rules.

It all appears to have gone downhill since Adam, Katie and a few other long-standing members of the Team have left.

Not somewhere that I would go out of my way to visit anymore, sorry!

Just Returned from another great weekend at Long itch beer festival. Always worth a trip and yet another year where i'm no disappointed. The Buck and Bell was very well organised with great and enthusiatic staff. Over the 2 day I was there the was a great selection of beer which when I have visited on other normal days has been just as good. Can't wait till next year :-)

Kind of gone off this place just lately......I do resent pointing out stale bread served to me, and no acknowledgement whatsoever. I wasn't after a reduction in the bill....just an apology would have been enough! I guess the 'familiarity breeds contempt' theory is alive and kicking then? Will give it a miss until the staff have worked out who has written this...if they care at all, that is!

Visited this pub during the festive period after reading it's review in the Warwickshire Food and Drinks Guide 2012. It did not disappoint.

The pub itself has a great atmosphere and is beautifully restored. We dined in a cosy book lined room with a well tended fire called The Snug. Although the pub itself was busy at the time, the service was great. We were well looked after by a lovely Australian lad. The young team displayed good knowledge of the menu when we asked. (Apparently many items on the menu are locally sourced).

Our meal was ample and delicious. Try the 'deli board' for starters - it is amazing. We will be back!

Visited at the beginning of this month whilst the village Beer Festival was on. Cycled along the disused railway nearby and then back along the towpath to the village. Well worth a visit.

Went here for Sunday Dinner this weekend. 4 Real Ale's on, 2 of which were in great nick, the other 2 I didn't have time to try. The Roast Dinner was pretty damn good too....as were the friendly, happy (and good looking) girls who looked after us!! Will definately visit again!

Superb job done on modernising a vitually dilapidated old ale house. Tastefully renovated and parts of the building that were long disused have been brought back into use (and life!). Excellent food and good beer - support for local breweries is evident here. Would highly recommend!
