Second year running we have used the restaurant for a Boxing Day family meal (to save cooking & get out). Although I basically agree with most comments posted, I can report that this years meal was delivered quickly and efficiently by helpful staff. It was a very busy day obviously but our complete party were impressed with the service.

I live VERY close to this "so-called" pub; it's a restaurant that serves drinks...IT IS NOT A PUB! To get served a drink it can, & usually does, take an intermidable time. They simply do not have sufficient staff to cope with demand. A limitation implemented by the owner, I understand, Vintage Inns.
My wife & I have persevered over numerous years now seeing changes to managers & staff along the way & always thinking it will improve, ever the optimists that we are! It's so handy for us to walk to, but it has failed on 90% of occasions. Stick with the fish & chips, (really good), or scampi & chips & you'll be okay. Other dishes just vary so much, & it's not cheap either. Many of the staff are youngsters & I really do not believe they receive adequate training, & are probably on a minimum wage too, they really do not seem to care that much, only doing just what they're told, no doubt.
On a positive note, they do keep a good selection of wines. In summary, The White Lion has a good & busy location but fails to deliver the goods.

Arrived 9pm Saturday. Only 1 bitter left. We sat in empty resturant part but were told to go to bar where no seats available. Then all the bitters ran out. Staff having crafty fag allowed smoke to come into bar through staff entrance.
Dreadful place.

As yateley had 3 pubs in the top 10 for hampshire, I thought I'd make the trip, all I can say is that Yateley folks must be very easily pleased, very average indeed, not bad, just average gets a 5 from me

This pub has gone under a huge refurblishement inside and out. Looks really nice and decent. 3 Real Ales avaialbe and now they have inculded a Guest ale. London Pride and 6X are their main Ales with a thirs being a Guest. At time of writing this, this was Batemans Victory Ale. A decent pub but its only down fall are the staff - This is because they lack a sense of urgentsey in serving, you will be stood for a while before your served and if their is a queue, rather than in most pubs staff would reconnise who is in order of waiting, the white lion dose not do this and jumps about picking people at random to serve. The staff arent quick at clear tables either.
This is a real shame, if the service of staff improved a great deal then this could be an excallant pub! Everything is in place but the staff!

Do like this pub but not quite on the money at present. Ale not always in good nick and prices have increased alot in last 6 months. Few staff issues also. Hope it sorts itself out.

I love the white lion. They food is amazing and the chef ! WELL..... what can i say !!!

A really decent pub in the village centre, fits in well with the charcater of the village. A nice large pub offering 3 Real Ales - London Pride, and two Guest Ales usually from Youngs and Ringwood range but dosnt brand out somethimes! Log fires, large patio area at the front of the pub! Car Park when full can be tight! But generally an all round good pub! like it!

A large traditional pub offering three Real Ales from Ringwood and Fullers Brewery. A decent pub, when weather is good the pub gets busy on its large patio area, the car park can be a bit tight when full! All round a decent pub, good food and good beer! Its better to be here than accross at the pbu their its poor, if you know what i mean. White Lion is a winner!

The christmas they had on during December was excallant! Regular beer are London Pride which the house ale! plus changeing guest ale, usual youngs! could do with a more wider range of ales tho! please could you branch out a bit! keep pride as the punters love it! but the other two, could you please change them every 2 weeks or so! as their are 3,500 different ales brewered in the uk along, you are not struggling for choice are you! that my ownly rant about the pub! everything to decent about it, lay out, location, style, food, traditional inn, all good! justt needs a change of the guest ales a bit more!

The Christmas Decrotration are amazing here! Worth a visit alone for them!

A pleasant pub with more foces on real ales now a days! still more of a restautant but real ales have been given a bit of a push recently!

A good pint with decent ales on offer! I do think the Blacksheep Bitter is better then the London Pride. Worth a Visit!
