justthereforthebeer is either hallucinating or working for another local pub because his comments are blatantly unfair, untrue and unwanted by the many locals who drink and eat in this lovely traditional unpretentious pub. I have lived in the area for twenty years and use this pub in preference to any of the other local pubs. It has a really friendly atmosphere and the landlord and landlady certainly don't let troublemakers stay long. I have never felt threatened or heard an unacceptable amount of bad language - but that's because if anyones' language gets unacceptable the landlord or landlady will very quickly ask the offender to tone it down. I have never seen violence of any kind in this pub which has a large number of female regulars who I am sure wouldn't be there if there was violence. The landlord is a trained chef with years of experience and his food is always excellent - Steak Night' is a treat not to be missed - the steaks are absolutely mouth-watering and the 'two for one' offer is such good value. The beer is excellently kept and there is a wide range too. Sorry to woffle on a bit but I really felt that the record needed to be straightened after I read the savage comments left by justthereforthebeer!

What could be a great pub is ruined by BAD ale ( I don't know how can anyone keep bad Ringwood Best in Ringwood, but they manage very well ) and also very rough company. Far too much swearing ( I know we all swear but boy, do they SWEAR) and the occasional fight does not help matters. On the up side, the food is good and it is a proper pub, not a wine bar or music venue. All things considered I won't be back until they improve the beer and kick out the pond life.

Great locals pub although visitors are also made very welcome. Friendly family owned and run pub with great, good value food (see Steak Night comment) and they also do take away Indian & Fish & Chips!!! Also, if you like rugby this is your pub - the landlord is a great fan and all matches are shown on a big screen. Highly recommended.

I quite agree. I've had a couple of meals and found them to be excellent and very good value for money. An enthusiastic well run family controlled pub desiring to meet all family requirements. Well kept beers in what is now a 'free-house'.

This pub has recently been taken over by new managers who seem to have there heads screwed on right. The pub offers excelent food and great beer at reasonable prices. I don't think this place deserves the bad reputation that it has had in the past. I've always been made to feel welcome. I would recomend this place to all.

This place is drab and dreary and in dire need of a refurbishment. Beer is pretty poor to. On the face of it Ringwood seems like a place that ought to have a few decent pubs but The Inn on the Furlong apart they are a bit thin on the ground. Head out into the New Forest where some decent pubs still survive.
