Open mic night Sunday evening. Nice pint of Ringwood, very friendly staff and customers. Recommended.

Love this Pub, popped in following many years travelling in the opposite direction to work and it felt as though I hadn't been away.
The staff are great, the beer was lovely and I wish them all the very best for the future.

stop there on my way back from Winchester good ales only three pumps but worth a visit.

Stopped here for the first time in about 45 years on the way home after an exhausting day working on the boat at Portsmouth. Desperately thirsty, my pint of Tribute was fabulous and I would have paid a fiver for the pleasure. (That may seem cheap in 3 years time)
Now planning a boys evening out to The Bull and look forward to seeing the same friendly staff and enjoying some fine beer.

En route a walk from Alton to Farnham. Stopped in Bentley village and changed route to walk direct to The Bull. Don't do this! Awful walk along 500yds of dual carriageway. Go to church and walk along lane and paths down to Bull. Nice pint of Tribute, but 3.45. Most expensive drink today. Nice if you drive here in your Merc (as a lot of folk do).

what a disappointment, took some visiting family for a meal at the Bull, the food was very poor! the beer was average, to be kind! the waiting staff, although pretty! had no knowledge about the food or the wine that we wanted! the toilet area is through the public bar, which on this night was very rowdy and quite intimidating, it seems that the staff are more interested in the drinking locals, shame used to be a fantastic little gem, so many good pubs out there, will be giving the Bull a miss in future. Always tell the truth-man.

Another pub that's changed hands in the last year. Crackin' pint of something (can't remember what) and if the food's as good as the beer,we'll pop along one evening to try it.

After a walk around the village of Rowledge the Ramble Then Lunch team stopped in at the Bull for some refreshment prior to heading back to Bentley station.
Big pubs next to major roads can be a bit nondescript but the Bull was a pleasant place. A standard range of ales of which we selected St. Austell's Tribute, which was fine. Well laid out with comfy seating we may well have stayed for another but trains from Bentley only go every hour.
Menu looked interesting if a little over elaborate but as the last poster says the food was good, we may well pencil this in for a re-visit in the future.

Well done to the new owners of the Bull! Food & service very good (the HOT Sunday roasts are a welcome treat), the also server a decent pint of beer...

Comfortable roadside inn on the A31. Olde Worlde traditional decor and nice selection of ales.

Used to go here a while back for the pub grub, all seemed to get a bit stale - but heard it had a refurb and earlier comments seemed positive.
Well .... what a disappointment. Drab tastless food, poorly cooked and presented, staff with little or no experience (wine presented in the bottle and left unopened).
Wasted my cash, sad.

Thought I would call back after my last brief visit and had a good experience biut at odds with my professional capacity. Firstly, very friendly greeting by young, knowledgeable staff. It's one thing to be greeted by the bar person but another step up when staff you are having no direct interacction with acknowledge your presence. Top marks. Unfortunately, both Mrs X and I picked the bottom of the barrels but our two cloudy pints were replaced without fuss (and later knocked off the bill, which was quite unecessary).
Main menu is great and good value. But decor is still 1979 - coach lamps, chairs, faux wooden bull 3-D painting, carpet (not quite spiral but not far off), back bar. In deference to our surroundings, we chose scampi and Welsh rarebit off the lunch menu. Excellent.
The things is, after running pubs for 20 years, I now work as a consultant in the trade and am meant to criticize these sort of things - but I loved it! Very warm and welcoming. Shame about the traffic noise blighting the garden.

Can do know more than echo the last two positive reviews.

Lovely little gem on the A31. Superb food, very friendly, good beer, great smoking area outside with heater for these cold winter nights. Definitely worth a visit - it's how a pub should be.

Can't believe that nobody has reviewed this beauty yet. Excellent front smoking terrace, shame about the road noise, but hey-ho. We arrived 5 minutes after they stopped food service, but the landlord checked with the chef, who came out to see us and say that it wouldn't be a problem. What a refreshing change!
Food was good, beer selecion a little average, but hey!
