It's a lovely pub in a great location. The beer's good, and I'm sure the food is too. I ought to really like it - but for some reason I don't. Perhaps it's because on the, admittedly few, occasions I've been there it's always seemed somehow unfriendly. I must give it another try.

I love this pub. I bought my house after visiting this pub. Country pubs simply don't get any better than this. The staff are always welcoming. The Landlord and Landlady are simply brilliant! The food is great, good value and never fails to live up to expectations. My husband is an ale drinking and loves the beers here. I have to forgive the wine - not brilliant I'm afraid. Overall though a great place to unwind and meet up with friends.

Worth seeking out if only for the excellent Darkstar Hophead. Easy relaxed pub where you feel comfortable from the word go, Lots of cosy corners and a small pretty garden. Good ale , good pub grub , good company I like this one.

Very nice place, lovely beers Harveys, Hop Head, couple of guests all in really good condition. Food was great and reasonably priced, staff fine, landlord affable and entertaining. Curry night very popular need to book! (but you don't have tohave curry). All in all a slightly better pub than the William IV.

Great location for a pub, overlooking the village green and church. The pub itself appears to focus on food, as became apparent when the barmaid assumed we wanted to dine. Locals were crowding around the bar, meaning the bar area was needlessly cramped. Most tables were set for dining. So the locals probably had little choice. It was such a nice day that we decided to sit outside on one of the benches in front of the pub, where it was quite pleasant watching village life go by, despite the presence of the fairly busy B road. Darkstar Hophead, Harveys Bitter, Larkins Traditional and Whitstable Faversham Creek were the 4 real ales available. Ciders were Biddendens Bushells and Westons Stowford Press.

Lovely pub next to the village green. Good range of well kept ale and friendly welcome.

As previous posters say, a decent, traditional looking village pub, on the green, with an old church inthe background. Visited on an early Sunday evening in April. The lunch crowd had obviously moved on, so wasn't too busy. Didn't eat myself, so can't comment on the food.
Noticed children and a dog floating around inside, which I have no objection to of an afternoon providing they're behaving themselves.
Availed myself of the hoppy Dark Star Hophead, which went down a treat. Certainly worth a visit.

Solid old pub next to the village green, one of the birthplaces of cricket. It has had its ups and downs over the years, but is now most acceptable. There is a restaurant area, which we have not tried-bar meals are good value, using meat from the excellent village butcher. When we were last in, Dark Star Hophead was on, which was new to me:it lives up to the hype on certain other sites. What was more, Larkins Old was also available, and on good form.Has the air of a proper village pub, pity its a bit too far from home.
