Recently went there for lunch. Good pub. Bunch of regulars stoking the wood-burning stove, then complained about the heat and demanded that the doors be opened. Food excellent. Manager a little quiet to start with, then my wife complimented him on the baked potato and the flood gates opened. Turns out he's Irish and definitely knows his business. As General McArthur said, "I will return".

Definitely an old fashioned type of boozer with old style glasses - coke still served in goblet style 1/2pts cute but they charge same as you pay for a 14oz branded glass elsewhere. Unless you are a regular then the staff/manager don't speak so remains uncomfortably silent at times. Though makes a change as no pushy upselling from anyone. If they "don't sell that" they wait for you to ask for something else.. avoid if you are used to new style of customer service you get as standard elsewhere...it hasn't reached old windsor yet.

Small, neat and clean, good decor inside. car park area would discourage anyone from staying though - they could at least get rid of the weeds- have they heard of first impressions!!. Staff not particularly friendly and like manager just seem to go through the motions. Food good but vastly overpriced and not available all day which seems outdated in this day and age. Much livelier pub next door but that was dirty and mismatched.

Very good atmosphere in this pub. Good ale - had Butcombe. And well cooked food. Been here twice recently and experience the same each time.

i often pop in here on my way back to the yard, always recieve a warm welcome from the staff and more importantly, great tasting beer! A proper "old fashioned" boozer. Can't fault it!
