I understand that this pub is now an Indian retsaurant - can anyone confirm or deny this?

Reasonable pub in an area where there are few such. On my visit they cask Abbot and (if I recall correctly) Old Speckled Hen on handpump. There was also keg GK IPA. Since I was driving and didn't want a strong beer, and anyway don't much like either Abbot or OSH, I had an orange juice with my meal. The food was quite good, basic pub fare. We chose from the traditional menu - I haven't tried the Indian food. Personally I prefer the Six Bells across the road.

It's part pub and part Indian restaurant now - but at least it's still open and trading. As said before - you will need a car or a No.2 bus to get there.

This pub has changed landlords and is again a long way out of Reading. Please be careful when selecting your pubs as BITEW seems to go by postcodes and not where the actual pub is!!!

This is a great pub! A warm welcome from the Antipodean landlord and a great pint of IPA to boot. A good selection on the menu which is very reasonably priced and teh chicken breast wrapped in parma ham with a mushroom sauce was divine! Nice characterful pub with a village charm and a warm welcome - what more could you ask for? If you are in teh area I would definitely give this one a visit!

Quite a nice low-beamed pub, with a bit of character.
Obviously attracts the local glitterati (check out the Aston Martin DB5 in the photo).
Beer is Greedy King which is a drawback, but it was served well enough.
Atmosphere was good, would pop back again at some point.
