Now demolished.

Closed mid July 2012. Site sold by Punch. Planning permission sought for conversion to Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, sadly.

I've been told that this pub is going to close at the end of July.
The rumours seem to be that it will be a "supermarket" with flats above.
Seeing that the junction it is on, already has lots of accidents (including a major one just last Friday), then this isn't really what is needed here,

I understand that the local council (Epsom and Ewell) have I identified this site for housing. So another pub local land market may go.

Went for a thai meal there a few days ago and it was really busy.
Agree with mattywhi, the food we ordered tasted suspiciously like it had come out of a microwave. Karaoke near the back of the pub, but not too distracting. Staff very friendly but obviously overworked.
If you want a decent thai meal i'd recommend Mai Ping or Epsom Thai.

Last time I went here was in 2002 when it was Jim Thompsons and the place was buzzing and busy. Today it was empty, the service was appauling and the waitress didnt seem to care. The plaster was chipped and breaking off the walls, the toilets were damaged.
When we finally orderd food it turned up in 5 minutes and had clearly been ripped out of a packet and shoved in the microware. I havent felt all that good this afternoon and can only put it down to this.
It's a shame as it used to be a really nice place to go to eat.

Nice place the bar staff are excellent, but a few unsavory characters frequent the pub especially one short bald fellow and a tall balding chap
But on the whole good food and good drink
