traditonal coaching house with many original features and rooms separated by wooden panelling.

Stancill Brewery had a couple of options on and in good condition.

Nice place.

Had a great birthday party and the buffet was out of this world, thanks for all the effort and the extra time at the end of the night. Would reccomend this place for a great party, staff were fantastic and very friendly.
Cheers.

We had our wedding here in June 2009 and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff were amazing, even playing board games with the little ones and letting us have the bar open until later. Food was lovely and the owners cratered for our every need. Highly recommend if you are thinking of having your wedding here.

Located in a picturesque area. Staff were very friendly and helpful, however the food was less than to be desired. We order the roast chicken main with vegetables and roast/new potatoes. The roasters were clearly defrosted and deep fried, the vegetables were actually chopped carrots and leek, and the gravey was like watered down chicken bisto. The stuffin ball was the size of a walnut. Amazingly my other half ventured on for dessert, and was greated with quite possibly the thinist slice of choclocate cake mankind can cut. Honestly, you could measure the top end of the slice against a 5 penny piece stood up! A very localised atmosphere. Would not venture here again.

This is a lovely old fashioned pub with a great atmosphere. The food is excellent and at a reasonable price and the ale is good too.

We stayed for one week on the camp site and ended up in the royal every night as the selection and quality of the cask ales were fantastic The staff are very friendly and the landlady[can she give you some banter back]was one of the old school and enjoyed the odd glass Nice to see trad pubs & atmosphere still being kept alive Keep up the good work and worth a visit when in the area.

Often call in here when passing Hayfield and never disappointed. Well kept beers and interesting choice of Guest Ales. Not tried the food but it looks good and is popular. Friendly and comfortable place. Large car park and outdoor seating near church and cricket field. Deservedly regular entry in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide.

Large pub/restaurant/hotel which was previously an old vicarage. Interior is pleasant with oak panelling and a good range of ales. Didn't try the food so can't comment on that but generally a decent place for a pint.
