Used too like this place - pity to hear though it's becoming a tap[s bar - another one bites the dust.

Will be closing soon to be transformed into a tapas bar. I shall miss the Tapp & Hobbit only for what it was when it first opened!

Could do better!
Those seats look like they've been recovered from the floods at Toll Bar!
The beer was okay - although they'd run out of Ringwood, they had Deuchars IPA and that tasted fine.
The barstaff were friendly too.

Use to be good but getting worst and worst. Could do with a proper makeover, the 2 sofas in the corner are literally falling apart...And the manager's face while he serves you ... you'd think you came round for christmas and pissed on the kids presents... Cheer up mate, you could be working at the moon in the square ...

Not too bad, nice to sit outside in the summer and get some food. Wouldnt recomend it at night though, unless youre 17 or under. Ale isnt very well kept. 1000 times better than the moon though

The bar sfatt here are helpful enough but sadly thats about all you can say in the Tapp's favour nowadays. It's desperately in need of a thorough makeover; please bring the place back to the standard it was when it first opened and provide decent beer to boot!

In addition to the problems outlined by BFT there is now only one real ale on compared to the four that it used to have.

It seems to be in a competition with the Moon on the Square to see which place can become the most run down before remedial action is taken.

It's a shame because in the right hands this place has the potential to be the square's answer to the Goat and Tricycle although at the moment it's shaping up to be the square's answer to the Punch and Judy.

Absolute crap hole!! The place is really run down and filfy, which is a shame as it used to be a nice place for a drink. Don't use the toilets unless you want to catch something nasty. Can't say it was the best pint I've ever had but better than the surroundings. Generally the staff are ok, that is when they can be bothered to stop chatting and serve you.

Relaxing place for town centre.

I really fancy the bar bloke so thats good enough for me. Very casual and a nice place to go.

Don't agree with Ian re the ale as I've found the quality to be somewhat varaible. Stairs can be lethal if you've had a few.

Went to the Tapp & Hobbit on a Wednesday night recently because loads of my work friends told me about the Quiz. Wow! Really fun quiz night, you have to check it out! Prices are OK too. Food great!

Can get quite busy so you may have to stand at the bar and chat to the barmaid!

Sometimes missed by people as even though is in the square, seems out of the way. Good to watch footie there, has a big screen placed high on the wall so you can see it from most places in the pub.
