A bit of a strange pub, looks like it will be quite traditional looking from the outside but the seating area on the inside is a bunch of chairs and tables that you might seen in a canteen. It twould ales on, Ruddles County and Abbot Ale, both kept in good condition and the prices seemed okay. I didnt appreciate one of the bar ladies ignoring my obvious signs that i was in need a coue more fresh pints, it was actually bordering on rude, the other bar lady was quite friendly though to be fair. There are also some interesting characters come to this pub.

Called in to pass the time whilst my wife was shopping nearby. Not a bad pint of Directors and not too OTT pricewise (£3.23 if I remember correctly) Spitfire was also available.

But I was NOT impressed at having to stand for most of the time because more than half the tables are strictly reserved for diners only. This really p**sed me off because in the middle of the afternoon, nobody was eating, but the numerous drinkers were all herded together like sheep. This is a pub, not a restaurant. Trying to be both in such a confined space is not an option.

It had been ages since my last visit to this place and I don't think that I'll be in much of a hurry to return. I can't remember the exact name of the so called real ale they poured me but I think it is the first time that I have been unable finish a pint in Liverpool. Like on this occasion the only reason I'll return is if I'm desperate to go to the lav.

I hadn't been in here for at least 15 years until my return this Saturday. I always remembered this as one of the city's more traditional pubs back then. Nowadays, it's situated right next to the new Liverpool One shopping centre and appears to get very busy at times. The front area retains some original character with carpets, bookcases and pictures of Liverpool and the pub itself in its former incarnation as the Walkers Grill. The bar area itself gets packed, whilst beyond the rear has been opened up into a restaurant. I'm afraid this has taken away from the pub a little of its character. 3 real ales were on - Banks's Bitter, Black Sheep Best & Shepherd Neame Spitfire. Pretty much a bog standard pub these days.

Oldish small pub which now finds itself in the middle of a new shopping area. Had a decent pint of Hardy & Hanson's Rocking Rudolph. What spoils this place is the creation of an open plan kitchen and "restaurant" area towards the rear of it which makes the place look and feel like a snack bar rather than a pub.

Went here last weekend, the 8th of October, and the food was lovely. Got a hawaiian burger which was massive but gorgeous. The staff were lovely and very friendly. Gave us directions and were more than helpful. The atmosphere was great, so much so we got to go back there before we went home. I would recommend a visit to anyone looking for great food, quiet drink, or bubbly atmosphere. And the chef Paul, besides being a great cook is also very easy on the eye, it gave us something hot to look at while waiting for our food..thanks very much:)

Last few visits here I've had Hobgoblin, Bombardier, and the regular Deuchars IPA and Cains Bitter. Although at 2.50 it is probably the most expensive pint of Cains Bitter in Liverpool city centre. This pubs profits must have quardrupled since the new Liverpool One shopping centre opened. I've been to The Beehive at least twice a week for the past month and it's always been very busy. Still a great city centre pub with a very mixed clientele (and no scallys which is a bonus!)

Not really enough real beer to be called a "real ale" pub, But ok for a swift one on the way to some real pubs

Absolutely brilliant pub.

This pub has a narrow frontage but goes much further back than youd expect. The rear area is used for dining only whilst the kitchen is open. The front part of the pub is the main seating area and has leather seating, books by the yard and display cabinets filled with plates, figurines etc, there are also old photographs of the pub in its previous incarnation as a smart dining room. Three handpumps on the bar but only two were in use selling Cains bitter and Deuchars. I tried a pint of the Cains, it was OK, but not really great. As this pub is within the shopping area it attracts a mixed bunch, in fact all human life is here. Mature couples having a quiet drink loaded up with Primark bags, 6 lads just starting off on a stag do, three girls out for a post work drink and a couple of scruffy and rather smelly drifters. Not a place for a long session but its OK for one on the way past.

Great pub worth a visit, reasonable ale and some good pub food.

Friendly staff and clientele

Small city-centre pub with a nice feel to it. Good selection of ales. Food available. A pleasant sanctuary from the shopping madness outside.

No Cains Bitter when I went in a few days ago (probably due not being re-supplied after Christmas) so I reluctantly chose a pint of John Smiths. I'm glad I did because that was the best pint of John Smiths I've had in years!

I should also mention that this is right next to the new Liverpool One shopping centre and a good alternative to Wetherspoons (The Welkin) 100m further down the road! Mainly because this is a real pub!

Went in here last week during my lunch break and had a swift half of Cains Bitter. First time I've been here and will definately return for a longer stay. They had a couple of other ales on tap and the food looked to be of a good standard and reasonably priced. (Why haven't I been here before!?!?)

Decent, friendly boozer that doesn't feel like it should be in a city centre.
