Coopers, Liverpoolback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
I've often visited the other pub in this street - The Globe. But I finally got around to trying out Coopers on Saturday. Music was booming out on approach. I'm not sure whether it was karaoke or just a disco, as I'd already had enough. But the locals seemed to be enjoying it. The pub is small, with 2 rooms. I managed to prop myself up on the barstool at the serving hatch to the back bar and seem to recall being mildly amused by 2 of the biggest bottles of Yates's Aussie White Wine you're ever likely to see! One guy wanted to charge me for sitting on his stool. There are no real ales. The fizzy options are Carlsberg, Tuborg, Tetleys Extra Cold & Mild, Guinness, San Miguel & Strongbow. Not the worst pub I've ever been in. But I much prefer the Globe, a few doors up.

Absolutely packed and featuring karaoke singers who prove not all people in Liverpool know what a tune is. OK if you like that sort of thing but otherwise awful.

Very small so being in the city centre gets very crowded. This was my first Liverpool pub on arrival there so it was quite amusing seeing a guy playing the spoons then watching another bloke follow a woman into the ladies claiming there was a smoking at the back then not seeing them for half an hour or so. I guess this was welcome to Liverpool! The pub itself does have a cosy and traditional feel to it and the drinks are pretty cheap and well kept. The karaoke at night is quite loud and in your face (like some of the patrons) but if you can put up with that then it's a fairly unpretentious boozer. If not then try one of the many pubs nearby.

One of the most friendly pubs in the country (if you can get a seat).

Theres always some sort of low rent entertainment going on here, tonight dreadful karaoke to keep the chavs and scallies happy, and by god they were enjoying themselves noisily tonight. A fun pub for those who enjoy cheap booze and undemanding nonesense. Bare brick walls with the hint of older, better decoration above head height, very sticky floors and only relatively harmless Tetleys Cask amidst the sea of liquid pap. Not one for the maiden aunts but if you like this kind of place it does it well.

Tiny but friendly pub where you can't help but join in with other peoples conversations. Has entertainment every night, unfortunately we missed the Singing Taxi Driver and Scouse Elvis and had to make do with standard karaoke.
