Very cheap, the only place I've seen Stella (or at least is purported to be Stella) at 2.20. The atmosphere is decent, mostly older folk having a good time. No real ale but if you want a cheap night or day drinking keg beer then why not spend it here, nowt wrong with it.

Excellent alehouse themed on a South American prison. Guest ale was strongbow. Just for men stronghold, isolated tracksuits and average quality CD/DVD's. Cleaner on long term sickie.

Lively pub between Lime Street and Central stations. Have passed it many times. But yesterday, I finally ventured in. It's a large room with bare boards and a few TVs. All tables were occupied on our Saturday lunchtime visit. There was a handpull, but no ale was on. All beers and ciders are keg - Stella, Magners Golden Draught, Carling, John Smiths Extra Smooth, Boddingtons Extra Cold, Tetleys Dark Mild, Carlsberg, Guinness, Strongbow & Becks Vier. An Aussie White with hot water, suger and lemon is £1.80! Should have tried one really.

Cheap as chips and does what it says on the tin. Basically just a room where you can sit and have a pint. Sky on the telly and alsorts of characters knocking about. Got a sort of social club feel to it.

not our cup of tea, yes its cheap but the cheapness attracts the wrong people, its ok for a quick one or if your with the lads but not for couples,

hahahaah i hope this place hasn't changed over the last 15 years or so- classic liverpool- what makes the city great not all that crap down at the dock!

One of those kind of institutions that can cheer one up - however down and bad you feel when you come in here you think ' Life could be FAR worse - I could be a regular in this place'. It's worth a visit to experience what an old style 'Yates's' was all about. To gain an insight to that one needs to sample an Ozzie red or white - both guaranteed to remove all brands of varnish.

Large single room city centre bar. Full of red-faced pensioners. 1 cask - Bombardier at 1.49. Think I would rather become teetotal than drink here on a regular basis

This is a great pub - people from real life in here, prices are cheaper than anywhere in Liverpool I know of. ok so its very spit and sawdust (without the sawdust) and I have to admit to being frightened of catching dysentry or something similar in the loos - but i think you can see real Liverpool in here, with down to earth people. have to say a certain large chain across the road on the corner (Wspoons) is dearer and their loos are manky as well.

The Champagne is very very expensive.

Avoid this pub, always busy with booze hounds. Smelly and dirty interior matches the drinkers
|
A dreadful place frequented by tramps and miscreants selling batteries, razors and cd's. Avoid at all costs.

What a dump!
|
Ah, the first pub i was ever kicked out (at 15), good to see it hasn't changed.

The site of the first ever Yates's Wine Lodge, this is now an extremely cheap boozer and the clientele reflect this. We were hassled at our table by a Big Issue seller, and is it standard practice for a barmaid to remove the excess head from a pint by putting her hand in it and scooping it out the glass before slopping said pint in your general direction? It is here!!
