please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

I visited on a Saturday lunchtime and place was empty but a lunch party was due. 2 real ales on tap, one local brew, the pint I had was nicely kept. Nice pub with a good food menu, but can't comment much further as pub was empty apart from me and 3 staff.

"not very gay friendly"

Suits me.

I didnt like the atmosfere in this pub, the crowd felt a bit aggressive and not very gay friendly. I have drunk in quite a few pubs around this area and most of them i feel very comfortable in. I also thought the service was quite slow and i realise that it was very busy but i wouldnt recomend this place to any of my friends. when other places in the area are much better i think.

This pub is lovely inside but lacks something. Went there the other day and the staff didn't seem too interested in being helpful and the coffees were luke warm... it could be so much more.

Very unfair review from moonmonk. Staff have always been friendly and he must have had a bad day. OK selection of drinks and a nice atmosphere when its not too crammed due to its popularity. I expect most people go because of the cool staff.

Ok-ish pub for an early afternoon beer or two: don't try Sunday Night, though or you may come across the "Quizmaster"!! Dear, oh dear - sense of humour by-pass, that chap!

For "diaappointing" read "disappointing", btw - typo

Sorry you feel like that, moonmonk

Why not try a Sunday night when I run the Quiz?

You could also avail yourself of one of the FH's Sunday Roasts beforehand which, believe me, are far from diaappointing

I could never be described as seeming to thin (sic) that I am cooler than ice and you might even win money, wine or chocolate to ease your serotonin levels

Also, what is wrong with going to a pub "for drinks and atmosphere only"?

I've often found that drinks and atmosphere are two of the main things that attract a lot of people to licensed hostelries - then again, what would I know? I'm only 52

:-D

Unfortunately, although the pub is amazingly decked out, all new and great reclaimed wood tables (or so it seems) the food is very disappointing and the staff seem to thin that they are cooler than ice. Therefore the service lacks and the food lacks so unless you are there for drinks and atmosphere only you will be dissapointed.
