The Cotswold Way is good nick.

The ales are much improved.

Just a quick update - they now have their own "house beer" Redesdale Bitter which is actually Wickwar BOB Bittter but it's still a nice pint. The answers on the quiz machine are still wrong!!

I used to pop in for a pint of Hook Norton bitter which was generally Ok but never the best. However, things have changed for the Hooky has gone and has been replaced by 2 beers From Wickwar (BOB and Cotswold Way) plus Bath Gem. The BOB was very good as was the half of Gem. Very friendly ladies behind the bar and a very pleasant visit. Prices are high but it is an hotel bar. Food available as well as B&B etc. TV in the bar (no sound);newspapers;a quiz machine (with all the wronf answers on it !!!) and a mix of locals and tourists/day trippers. Worth a visit and I hope they keep up the range and quality of the beer (it is Cask Marque)

called in several times in the last few days. Hookey very tired as was the sag weaver. My wife tells me the wine is good?

Spent an enjoyable afternoon here watching England in the World Cup. Comfortable pub - staff could do with smiling a bit more, but that would be my only complaint. Food was decent and there is a pleasant outdoor seating area at the back of the pub.

Really, really excellent. Stayed for 1 night after seeing their 'late deals' bord out the fron. All the staff couldn't have been more helpful & friendly - clearly all were enjoying their jobs and proud of the place. Bar is comfortable, they had Hooky bitter & Gold on, both very well kept. The whole place seemed very well looked after and cared for.

Not bad, but sort of suffers from an identity crisis. Hotel, bar, restaurant, pub, who knows, a bit of all 3. Nice area with tables out the back and the beers whilst limited are decent. Hooky, Hooky Gold, Stowford Press etc.
|
Very clean bar. Certainly devoid of atmosphere, but nice for a spot of grub ... or even to stay !!
|
Looks like this place has been modernised into an expensive gastro pub recently, has no character. Only 2 real ales available and full of pretentious rich local kids

When in Moreton I would choose the Redesdale. Good food good Beer good service

I visited this smart bar on 31.12.07 while spending New Year in Moreton in Marsh, and enjoyed an excellent Courage Best.
|
Really enjoyed this place yesterday. Two fireplaces on the go, various boardgames available, 2 Hook Norton's available (ordinary and Old Hooky), decent burgers. Basically wiled away the day in here, as there's so little else to do in Moreton on a Sunday. We stopped in 3 pubs (The Black Bear and the Old Bell) and this was easily the best one.

Sleepy bar. Attracts the occasional visitor, and perhaps has a regular crowd, but staff not really interested.
Hook Norton on tap, but not enjoyed due to character of the place.
There are other places in the town that appear to be worth a visit, so you may want to give it a miss.
