Cherry Tree Inn, Ticehurstback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
Well went to this pub and never again the food was not right. It had a funny smell to it. When I asked the waitress to exchange I was told from the cook it was ok. Funny as I'm the one paying to eat good food not him. Did they require the chief from McDonald's or the happy eater. Manners cost nothing. Lipstick on my glass I don't wear any being a male. My partner was shocked as we have travelled the world and no our food as for myself years as a top chief. Did they pass any exams ? Would I have been safe with beans on toast . I won't be back like the rest off the group . I found a local burger wagon down the road first glass service and with a smile . From one very unhappy customer

Well, well, a pleasant surprise awaited us on visiting the Cherry Tree recently. Not only new signs, better outside lighting and facilities, but a total makeover inside, which has provided more space and a lighter brighter interior. The New tenants have modernised the pub to the latest 'in colours', given it an interesting menu, which proved to be of a high standard. Cheerful staff and a young feel all made it an enjoyable visit. We've already been back!

It was actually Harvey's South Down Harvest rather than Harvey's Copperwheat - my mistake!

Visited on Saturday lunchtime and had a very nice ploughman's lunch and my g/f had a good sized tuna mayo salad with a side of chips. Good selection of salad - not just lettuce as most pubs offer but celery, peppers, spring onion, cucumber, tomato etc. Ploughman's was very tasty with a nice pickle, lovely pate, pickled onions, proper ham, grated cheese, warmed bread and a sausage. Had a lovely pint of Harveys Copperwheat beer too. Nice surroundings in the pub and friendly staff. If we are ever in the area again then we shall certainly pay it a visit.

Great pub, good food, well kept beers and friendly staff. Worth a visit.

This delightful pub is conveniently situated near the A21 and the various attractions of the Weald and we had lunch there last week.
There is ample parking, the landlady is very welcoming and obliging, food is good and the pub is comfortable and attractive both inside and out.
I highly recommend it.

We (myself, husband and 15mth young son) have been twice now, once for mother's day and now on Father's day.
The service is very good, very welcoming and friendly.
The roasts are excellent choice of beef, lamb, chicken or pork, good amount on the plate. Our son enjoyed his scampy and chips!
Had the homemade strawberry cheese cake today which I highly recommend!!!!
My mum and sister have also stayed there for two nights, said the rooms are excellent and the breakfast was very satisfying especially the sausages!

Visited this pub Sunday 11th April, fanatstic Roast lunch, choice of Beef Chicken or Pork. One of our group had a veggie homemade lasagne which got the thumbs up. Choice of beers, Harveys being the local and a very nice pint of Skinners cornish ale, Betty Stoges. Interior of pub clean and toilets spotless. Stoneflag flooring throughout the pub. Plenty of space in the split level sunny garden with benches. Will definitley call back if in the area. An alternative to the Bull if on the round Bewl walk, a slight detour but well worth it.

The current reviews are now out of date as my partner and I took over The Cherry Tree in September. Please come and try us out.

I can't speak for the beer or meals, but we found the place very nice as a bed and breakfast - basic, no frills at a good price, clean and relatively newly refurbished rooms. The breakfast was enormous. The staff were also very friendly.

The sign outside suggested new ownership and a promise of good food, but the reality could not have been further from the truth. Though clean and fresh inside and a pleasant bar area with a welcoming barmaid, the beer was limited and the menu stunningly unimaginative. In fact I have seen more choice in Burger King. The menu consisted of 3 choices of starter - pate, soup or prawn cocktail. Even more unimaginative was the main course - sausages, burgers or scampi - the roast was 'off'. No fresh food, no vegetables and so you would think that processed food could be served quickly, but an hour later, still nothing. Apparantly it was so busy the limited staff could not cope (perhaps the microwave was too small). Why on earth people would choose to book to eat here was beyond me. It would be kind to call it disappointing, a more honest description is appalling. Avoid it.
