Definitely a gastro-pub; no unreserved tables inside for drinkers like us who are left to battle the wasps out the front. However, without prompting from me, the barman immediately rejected the dodgy-looking pint he had just poured and offered me an alternative (Charter bitter). A pleasant change from so many pubs that will happily pour you crap and gets a point back for good service

No longer any pretence of being a pub. No brewery choice; and effectively now a Woodfordes tied restaurant, and clone of the nearby Fur and Feather.

Decent pint of Wherry, nice terrace outside, friendly girl behind the bar.

Popped in here after a long long walk from where we moored up. The sign said 1.25 miles but it's more like 2 miles. We only had drinks because whilst the staff were efficient they were not welcoming so we went to the Kings Arms Chinese which was absoltely excellent.

Lovely food. Room very cold with inefficient fake log burner. We had to close the door at least 7 times. Staff never closed the door when coming and going. Needs more heat and door 'closers'.

First & foremost a restaurant, with top end food. Good Beer though, with up to 3 real ales.

Comfortable village inn, serving a nice pint of Woodfordes Wherry and several other real ales. Recommended.
