Been drinking here for about 10 years, such a great pub, good location, decent beer. Probably don't use it as much as i used to (due to the change of landlord, not in a bad way thou) but still pop down now and then. Well worth a look.

Now under new management and went in for the first time last night. Very friendly guy running it now so no strictly local feel to it. A nicely decked out pub with typical Shepard Neame beer. Will go again for sure.

The best pub ever this is were dreams are made

horrible pub - unfriendly staff who don't know how to keep beer. Landlady looks like Janet-Streeter Porter and is loud and vulgar. Unfriendly to non regulars, like something out of A Legue of Gentleman. I half expected her to say 'This is a local Pub for local people'.... NEVER AGAIN!!!

Went into the Fisherman's last night after struggling and failing to have a quiet conversation in the 'yard' of the Thirsty Pig. As Sharp says, it's been done up and is now rather nice. Two Sky TVs on but the volume wasn't up loud. Both Sheps beers were OK too. Just about the oldest building in Maidstone, built in the late 1400s and originally a farm house before becoming a pub. The Royal Albion is the towns oldest pub. But back to the Fishermans. Nice quiet pub and will go in there again.

Well the Shamrat is an awful Indian so ignore alexboorman. Went into the Fishermans last night for the first time in years - used to be a prime under age haunt but its really sorted itself out now. Small Shepherd Neame boozer with a low ceiling - a recent refurbishment has worked wonders though, its now relaxing inside with a light wooden interior, comfortable seating and Sky Sports. To the rear is a small garden. Standard Sheps prices but I will be making a return for sure.

Basic, edge-of-town-centre boozer; but makes a welcome change from the noisy, overpriced bars in the middle of Maidstone. A Shepherd Neame house.

never been in here, but it is very near to the best indian restaurant in maidstone, the shamrat. by its sheer proximity to this restaurant i hereby rate this pub as a winner!
