Backstreet local that I meant to visit a few years back. But I never got round to it. The interior is dominated by a bowling alley. There is limited seating and two rooms have been knocked into one. The gents toilets are outside. All 4 ales were from Arkells - Moonlight, Hoperation IPA, Wiltshire Gold & Kingsdown Special Ale. It was fairly quiet early on my Saturday afternoon visit.

met the love of my life in the adam, thankfully we didnt meet in a club or on the internet! like most people our age. (20s) its an old school side street pub, and long may it live.

First time in the Adam for a long time and must say, what a change, the last landlady had been there for what seemed a lifetime so wasnt sure what to expect, not dissapointed, now a Cask Marque pub, great beers and very friendly atmosphere, had Arkells and Donningtons beers on, beer was excellent, bar has been opened up from two small bars to one open area giving the pub a much more roomy feel than it had before without losing the friendly nature of the place, spotlessly clean and the guy behind the bar was more than happy to let you sample the beers before making a decision,

Recently taken over and renovated, what a cracking little boozer! Skittle alley used 4 times a week, and darts team in. Allotment turned into nicely done beer garden. Sky television showing 2 different games, but not in your face. 5 real ales, and I must say the best pint of Guinness Ive had in a while. Mens toilets bit oldy worldy, but my partner said the ladies were spotless with fresh flowers. Locals raved about the Arkells guest ales, and were very supportive of the new Landlord who has just received his Cask Marque. Keep up the good work.

Donnington Gold was on when i visited. Skittle alley in use as well. Pub is very dated, a mish mash of bar stools and furniture. Not my type of decor, not a pub i would search out again.

This is a quality pub. The veg garden is now a beer garden. Very friendly bar staff and locals, and the skittle alley was in action when we visited. But if the decent range of well kept Arkells isn't enough, it's worth a visit for when you need to get rid of the beer. Outdoors gents with black painted corrugated iron walls and old fashioned wall and trough urinal. Deffo worth a visit.

Great little pub which we visited before attending the Cheltenham Festival. This is set within terraced housing and the interior is very 1970's to the point that it resembles 'Life on Mars'.
Do not let this put you off however, for if you like a good pint of Arkells, a lovely landlady who makes you feel welcomed as a local and a nice laid back atmosphere, then you should visit.
The interior is actually one of the plus points in this all too modern age, with a vegatable patch as a rear garden and a skittles alley which is clearly used but was closed on our visit.
If I ever find myself looking for a pint in Cheltenham again, I'll call again.

Classic old fashioned and friendly back street boozer. Sadly one of a dying breed, nice welcome from the long standing landlady and a good drop of beer.

Late review from November. I like to take the bus ride out to this Arkells pub run by a lovely friendly lady who is happy to chat, even though we were strangers to her. It was quiet and felt homely. Lovely pub with good Arkells beer.

Quaint old pub in a side street. Some room to sit outside but mostly taken up by a vegetable garden so very pleasant out there. Arkells beers: 2B, 3B and Summer Ale yesterday. Looks like a locals pub but very friendly. Definitely worth a visit.
