A very good real ale pub, with reasonable choice, made much better by the smoking ban.

Nice little old fashioned pub in a narrow side street with well kept ales.

Recently changed hands. Being cleaned up but none of the atmosphere being changed. Good landlord and excellent beer. As good as they come

Great pub, just recently moved back to Mcr after a few years in Sheffield and was welcomed by this gem.
Great favourite. Bar staff friendly, you always feel relaxed and welcomed here. Usually have about 6 beers on. I always seem to stick with the Tetleys though(always on), at around 2 a pint, can often be the only one less thab 4%.

Recently spent a fine afternoon in the City Arms; made to feel very welcome, especially as I had a newspaper crossword none of those standing at the bar had done yet. Great selection of beer. Only found the place by (happy)accident. A city centre 'must visit'.
Ex-Tetley festival ale house attracting office workers from the nearby financial heart of the city centre. Around six or seven ales, and they offer a very quick lunchtime food service.
Verey busy and very good pub, with well-kept ales and always a mild available.
Lovely pub. It's always packed which tells you a couple of things - a) the beer's great and b) it's f'king tiny. It's standing room only with a dozen people present. Probably.
A very decent pub with good quality ale.Always found there to be a great crowd in here as well. One problem - if theres more than 5 people in here it seems to get impossibly cramped.Nevertheless one of the better city centre pubs.
Good pub, always welcoming. cosy atmosphere with a good selection of beers.
This pub is areal oasis of a great real ale pub in a barren area, apart from the ajoining Vine, this is really a keg area.Great choice of beers real pub atmosphere also decent people.

Decent traditional boozer, but disappointingly closes Sunday! Good variety of real ales, good atmosphere, can get a bit smoky though!
Good traditional pub. Nowt special, but always worth a stop off. Never seen gangs of knobheads in there, even at weekends, which is worth a mention for a city centre pub.
The most reliable, cosy little pub in the centre of Manchester. Consistently good quality and variety of beers. I've been going here for 15 yrs and always found a traditional and welcoming atmosphere.
Good place for a lunchtime pint. Whilst the girlies are queuing up to order food at the McDonalds like Wetherspoons next door the serious drinkers will be sampling the excellent ales on offer in the City Arms.
Some decent ales available but the food and service were terrible when we went in. There are better real ale pubs in Manchester.

Decent selection of real ales for such a small pub,but can be worth having halves till you find your tipple......Mainly suits during the day...Can be quieter in the evenings...atmospheric 2 room pub.Lotsa wood & etched windows.
Is this pub still open? We went on Sunday but it was shut.

I've been going here for 4 years and various manager changes, the beer quality has always remaind.

A nice little pub in the town centre. Dead busy in the evenings.

Wow, a real pub, rather than a lager warehouse,a real relief in the centre of town, so usually pretty busy, good selection of real ales, open fire is a bonus in the winter
