This was one of my favourite spots for a pint in central london, a real find despite the guy with funky teeth behind the bar being a bit of an idiot. Really affordable and good atmosphere, but sadly now closed... it says for refurbishment but I'm guessing a spruce up and a eye watering hoik in prices go hand in hand...

This has now closed, rumour has it it may be turned into yet another 'gastropub'

This is a real find. Affordable drink in the West End, although last time I was in there the secret seemed to have got out and the place was horribly packed.

rude barman, other than that ok.

After being in Mayfair for 12 years I've found the HOLY GRAIL. Great bar attitude. People matter as long as they know what to drink!

5.25 for a BOTTLE of drinkable rose wine. Handy if you're struggling before payday, although the customers can be a bit of a rum bunch!

Been to this place a few times after work and have had no problem with the bar staff. Given that I had to wait a while because a large group of locals took ages just to order a round of drinks, I can see why the bar staff lose it with some people - I felt like telling the people to bugger off and sort their order out before going to the bar. Finding a pub in the West End where you actually get a table on a Friday night is a god-send. Good prices, the food is standard fare and the DJ's on a Friday play an excellent selection of music.

I like this place, it's a welcome change from other pubs in the area & I haven't one complaint about the staff, I've found them alwys friendly & helpful here.

My friends and i went there after work last friday, and didn't find it at all like it had been previously described. Cheap beer yes, but the staff were friendly and there were dj's playing great music all night so that sorted out the atmosphere problem.

Me and my work colleagues used to go to The Last Bid at least once a week in the evenings and every Friday lunchtime because as has been said before its really cheap but we have stopped going due to the extremely offensive bar staff. Shame really because other than that which is quite a major things its a really cool place to hang out.

I used to love this pub, great location, cheap drinks, but the service is bordering on abusive. They are so rude in here, its made me stop going.
|
nice pub for a cheap pint and an evening where there is a crowd of you. As previous comments atmosphere is a little poor but the pint price does make up for it. Only beware in the summer time - as you are right near the drains - the smell of raw sewage can be quite strong!!!

This pub shuts at 6pm on a Saturday we were informed by the slightly grumpy barman so inclusion on beerintheevening is slightly suspect. Ambience felt a bit cold but this could be due to time been called.
|
Very Cheap beer, Lager from 1.95 a pint. Pool table but little atmosphere.
|
Yep Cheap booze just of Oxford Street... can't be bad. Its never too busy, and in all other ways it is average. But its got cheap booze just of Oxford street!
Yes it does have a Pool table.
|
Cheap drinks Sunday-Thursday, like 1.65 a pint! Gets busy for that reason!
|
A handy pub seconds from Oxford Street yet strangely empty whenever I've been. Worth checking out if you're in dire need of a seat. 99% sure there's a snooker table there too. Not great, but by no means bad.
