Pleasant little backstreet boozer which seems to be fitted out for matchday rather than a proper local these days. The decor is somewhat spartan and the seating cleared away so legions of Arsenal fans can pack the place out. HOWEVER they do sell ale and on a non-matchday you can have a quick pint here quite comfortably and happily.

A throwback to a bygone era when pubs where places to catch up over a few pints with neighbours and old friends. Having said that, the pub is very inviting to strangers and the regulars appreciate newcomers who can raise a chuckle or two. Football is a popular conversation topic and most of the regulars are Arsenal fans, but all are welcome(several regulars are also Spurs fans).
Barstaff very friendly and hospitable. Good selection of beers.
Pubs like this are a rare breed these days.

A wonderful and outstanding example of a traditional back street pub that has withstood todays climate. This is by all accounts the last traditional pub in the area and I was truly delighted to stumble upon it. There were 4 real ales on offer, which were so good that -well lets jus say that I had to return for my car the following morning! And my wife was as equally impressed with the selection of wines available. The two lovely girls behind the bar were very attentive and could not do enough for us. We have returned since (opting for public transport this time) and were equally delighted with our experience. We cannot recommend it enough.

Nice local backstreet pub, just off the Holloway Road, it's a nice friendly bunch and a good place to catch a game or have a chat.

This is a very quiet backstreet boozer that was serving up Pride and a standard draught selection. There was another pump with a Bombardier clip attached, but this was off during my visit.
I spotted three plasma screens for the showing of Sky Sports and the is a pool table around the side of the bar by the exit to the tiny beer yard with some covered standing space and a heater for those chilly nights.
As has been mentioned before, this place is ok due to its peers lacking in many respects, but I wouldnt go out of my way to drink here again.

The pub scene in N7 has taken an absolute battering over the past five years with closures, and the George is a fairly rare example of an N7 backstreet pub still standing. I was hopeful that it would be decent given the very positive write-up it has on the North London CAMRA site. I'm afraid I thought it pretty unremarkable though. On the plus side, it's still standing, and hasn't followed the route of so many in north London by becoming a trendified gastropub. It's still an honest local boozer serving the surrounding streets, one senses. But as a negative, there's little to make it stand out: a fairly charmless functional interior (and exterior) and of the four handpumps I noted only one was dispensing ale, and Pride at that. True, it's unusual round here to find any pubs serving real ale, but this is a mediocre pub made to look better than that by the paucity of its surrounds. Not worth taking a detour for.

Little local backstreet pub, very unlike the Holloway Road pubs themselves. Closed at 11.30 on a Friday night so perhaps not the liveliest place, but that isn't always what you want.

Frequented by The HERD on match days - EIE!!!!!
Friendly staff.
However, Police tend to interupt customers having a quiet drink on match days - Is this what we pay our taxes for??????
