Complete gem of a pub. Cosy interior with two open fires on the go when we visited, lots of trinkets scattered around, friendly owners and locals. Very genuine.
Had a pint of Yumi and half a Pride and Joy - very well kept and best real ale I've had in ages.
Had a good chat with everyone in there and got to meat Harry the Dalmatian, who is a big softy and lovely.
Trust me, you can ignore the negative comments that were made back in 2007 - obviously made by those who look down their nose at others, this pub is not for the likes of them - we'll keep it to ourselves!
Looking forward to our next visit.

I ate here for the first time recently. The food was well cooked and presented. Good honest cooking with nothing pretentious about it.
All washed down by a pint of Hook Norton Hooky bitter.

Friendly traditional country pub, completely unpretentious. Stopped off there whilst out walking and found we were made welcome with 2 good beers on hand pumps and good selection of proper pub food. Felt comfortable and relaxed, would definitely return here.

Totally with you Triathlongirl -

How the heck people and thier chavy offspring exxpect to use pubs and therir facilities without paying is beyond me.

We need a campaign to kick kids out of our pubs, if you have saucepan lids do us all a favour and take them to a bloody cafe and leave the pubs to the ADULTS

Excellent pub, CAMRA winner - simple good food. Reading other comments here it is laughable that people feel they can use the pub facilities (the play area) without actually using the pub. Perhaps we should all come round to your garden and set up on your land - point made!

As far as the comment re the visiting the school is concerned, the pub is hardly likely to be open at the end of the school day! And if you fancy drinking at that time then you are maybe better found in a working men's club.

The pub is lovely, the staff are friendly, beer is good (hence the CAMRA award) and the food is of decent size, good value and tasty. Jazz nights are fabulous and exclusive and the Sunday carvery is a bargain and always hits the spot.

Fully recommended - we always use it, as do many of our friends!

Good selection of ales however the lager and cider never tastes quite right, the decor needs a lot of work, the cooler is regularly down and the prices are too much for what you're paying. However the pub dog is a very pleasant creature and I find the locals polite and welcoming.

The venue is too small for the jazz night they run.

Still a good night for jazz in a friendly well run pub. For its small bar size it offers a good range of drinks and a limited food menu. Always fully booked for the jazz evenings.

Good friendly service, with three real ales on handpump.
I went there for the jazz night, when they were fully booked for food.
The regulars were friendly and made us feel wanted. There were people from Farnham who used it as a "local" and it must be at least six miles away. A good venue, if a little small.

Very rude as they asked me and my family to leave their premises due to not buying a drink prior to playing on the kids play park - Oh get off, why becuase I told you to, its private now get off. Ver rude and when I asked him why he was so rude he told me becuase it was his place. Stay away - bizarre owner and very rude and aggressive.

Stay away... Worst pub ever
Drive past it every weekend to pick my daughter up from the local school and it is never open.
When it was we went in for dinner and wish we had not.
Should have realised from the Pubs name hanging from the outside wall with a letter missing.
Dirty, Grubby and stunk of chip fat from the minute we walked in.
The food was obviously microwaved but the beer was good according to the husband. Had dinner on 17th March but will not be going back.
We had lunch 1/2 mile furthur up at The Chequers the same day with friends and is a different class than this.

A really excellent traditional pub, run by a couple, with a changing variety of real ales and superb home cooked food. Friendly to walkers.
