La Virginie, Actonback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
This place should be renamed La Bizarre. Open only on weekdays from lunchtime til 10 and closed all weekends. In the gunnersbury park area, this is the only pub in real walking distance, so to close from 10pm friday to 12pm monday is just bizarre. Usual selection of drinks and a rather eclectic decor, which suggests the owner ran out of money after 5% of an intended refit. But an ok place for a local drink. If the owner is reading this, what is going on here?!

He still says that.

Latest: barman says food will resume soonish.

The chef went away, then she came back, but she's now gone away again, apparently for good. This is grave. The food was one of the good features of the place and, IMHO, it drew people there. It can be very empty so I fear for its commercial viability, especially if the kitchen stays closed. It needn't be Mauritian cuisine; I imagine they could get someone in to do Chinese. Petition 10 Downing Street on this now.

This is a real diamond in the rough. Lovely quiet, interesting, affordable place to spend an evening meal or drinks. I just hope the owners will advertise more soon on these sites etc as they could be alerting a whole lot more people to this little gem..

Maybe the management would be so kind as to change the name on here. See my previous post. A useful entry on pages such as these would be opening-times. They tell me that this place is open every day from 15:00 to 23:00.

Now renamed Paul & Virginie, maybe because I go there so much.

I live just up the road from here and it really is a lovely little place. Good atmosphere and really friendly, helpful staff-a place like this is very much needed in the area, a place to go for a bite to eat and civilised drinks. The food is understated, fairly priced and very yummy. Proper home cooking- I particularly liked the sizzling fish which is served with rice in a tomato-based sauce with lemon, garlic, peppers, coriander and spring onions for 8.00. The mixed starters are really nice to, and the menu is unusual (Mauritian according to the other reviewers). They have a couple of tables outside too, which is nice in the sun despite the busy main road!

Excellent little place, one of the gems of Acton. Staff are all incredibly friendly and will happily converse in English, French, Creole and any number of Indian languages. And Russian. And Italian.
The beer is the usual selection for a town boozer, but the food is like nothing you will find cruising the high streets and superpubs. Freshly cooked Mauritian food - if you're after something a bit different from the ubiquitous curry, try this. The chef is a genius with food.
They had some Sega dancing in the place last year, a proper treat - it was like being on holiday. Except for the British weather, of course.
Chairs too lumpy? Get up and dance! A top, top place, number one destination when I get off the stinking Piccadilly line at Acton Town.

Not a pub, but you can just come here and drink. It's actually a Mauritian winebar with super Indian-ocean food prepared amidst flames and sparks flying upwards in the highly-visible kitchen. Chairs a bit too lumpy and outdoors, but it's a friendly place taking payment-cards. Very close to Acton Town tube; look out for the dodo, symbol of Mauritius.
