Rough, noisy and grimy. And that is just the clientele. Ale said to be well served, but expensive.

Welcoming place, had a very nice pint of Gadds No 5 in excellent condition.

Apparently a camra pub. Gadds in very good condition. Unfortunately unbearably loud rock music and intimidating locals make it a no reutrn for us. All I can say is that it must have the clientelle it wants as a pub. Can't recommend despite the ale.

Interesting place, noisy and intimidating yet reasonalby good beer

If you enjoy slumming it in Eastern Europe, perhaps in Romania where you can feel superior while visiting old towns which are falling to bits after years of neglect, then you may enjoy the Ramsgate pubs in Kings Street. Beware -can be risky.

Another of those town centre pubs where you have to look like Count Dracular to be accepted. Ideal if you wanna see aHeadbanging Rock band but dont expect any rational conversation.

I used to be a fairly regular visitor to The Red Lion, but it recent times it's attracted a crowd who can get quite rowdy. As mentioned above they're mostly harmless though and don't tend to bother other people.
The jukebox is excellent and the staff are extremely friendly, plus they have a good assortment of live music at the weekend.

The sort of place where you wipe your feet on the way out. The beer is no great shakes either. The natives are mostly harmless. 3/10

Thorleys Tavern in the heart of Ramsgates town center. This pub has a great atmosphere, great jukebox, live music, friendly staff and an interesting mix of locals (very alternative).
However, the one thing this pub lacks is decent beer, only has courage directors ale wise. the lagers are all served flat, the beer is just crap. Real shame because with a good selection of beer, this would be my favourite pub around.
