Have used this pub on several occasions and never been disappointed, good value meals and well kept real ales along with friendly staff makes this a good choice pub. Set in lovely surroundings a visit here is a must.

While not dirt cheap the prices here are reasonable and value for money. Some of the (several) rooms are a bit bleak though and it's as well to arrive early and claim one of the premium tables. Moorland location that can be very chilly nine months in the year but spectacular if you like moorland scenery. Beer is usually well kept.

A nice country pub in a remote location out on the moors. 4 well kept cask ales available, good food and friendly staff. Various large rooms so plenty of space. Well worth a visit. Despite its remote location, the 528 bus stops outside so no excuse!

No reservations necessary for parties of less than 6 (I called before going). Had a lovely venison steak in a pepper sauce and partner's roast pork was delicious. Beer wise everything was golden, much of a muchness, with probably the Chinook shading the Theakstons Best.

Incredibly rugged and beautiful surroundings make this a must visit if you are in the area.

This has become our eating pub of choice when in the Littleborough area.

Have only been recently on Sundays when it can be very busy as it's popular with walkers and cyclists etc. so worth making a reservation at busy times. They've moved to only taking reservations for certain times during peak hours (e.g. Sundays 12pm, 2pm ...) but as the service is always very prompt, even when full, 2 hours has always been plenty.

As mentioned some great views, really good food including a good choice of specials and good choice of ales (regularly get a choice of Landlord or Black Sheep etc.). Staff friendly, plenty of parking space, nice bright tasteful interior, kids friendly. Not eaten in any of the other pubs in Littleborough recently but I'd definitely say the ~7 for a decent roast dinner here was good value.

Highly Recommended.

For the area (the postal address is Littleborough) the prices are particularly high, but then it is not IN Littleborough, it is way above the town, on the Pennine Way, just to the north of Blackstone Edge, providing spectacular views overlooking the Roch Valley on those few days a year when it is not shrouded in cloud. A regular bus service, route 528, which plies hourly between Halifax and Rochdale, crossing the South Pennine Moors, often stops at the door. Food highly regarded, good choice of real ales, internal decor strikingly attractive.

Set high on the moor, right on the Pennine Way and on the road between Rochdale and Halifax, makes this pub popular with both walkers and those popping out in their cars for a nice meal with amazing views. Great menu of home cooked meals and wide selection of real ales. We use use this pub regularly on walks from Hollingworth Lake and Todmorden.
