A large, busy pub with a range of cask ales. Worth a visit if you're in Adlington.

A very good pub with great beer,I'd visit again if the beer was a bit cheaper. I would have given more than seven if it wasn't for the prices.

Last comment on the pub spot on except being a lover of Taylors Landlord (now hard to get around these parts) it seems to have been taken off which is dissappointing. Microbrews you can get anywhere these days so was a perfect pub with a perfect pint, but now?

Known locally as the 'Bottom Spinners', as it is down the hill from the 'Top Spinners', this is the best real ale pub in Adlington and has been for some time. It's pretty standard inside and opened out to a degree within, although the 1 largish bar room has separate drinking areas due to pillars etc, and what was a snug to the left also retains a separate feel. Furnishings are traditional and old fireplaces and pictures add character. There's also plenty of outdoor seating at the front. a limited pub-grub operation is also in place, but this remains primarily a boozer. The beer selection is strong, with a mixture of nationals and local microbreweries. On my visit Landlord, Moorhouses Pride of Pendle, Coniston Blue Bird and Phoenix Spotland Gold were available. The latter was in fine form. Not a must visit but not bad at all, and the best in Adlington. Handy for the canal.

Quiet pub with plenty of seating and a good choice of real ales - Exmoor Fox, TT Landlord, Moorhouses Pride of Pendle, Caledonian 80/- and Rudgate Ruby Mild. Parking at the front is limited. Sky Sports was on the television. The barmaid was fairly loud!

Good beers but avoid Wednesdays at all costs. Agree with Redwing regarding the Bingo 'sippers' !

This is a good local pub serving pub lunches and real ale. They dont serve GUINNESS (they lose a point for that)! There is a decent quiz on a tuesday night and bingo on a wednesday. Its got a nice atmosphere. They have comfy bucket seats so you can relax and read the papers in front of a log fire. (the bucket seats are not great on quiz night because they take up too much room, we have had to leave due to no seats on quiz night twice now hence the 7 rating - it wouldve been an 8)

I could also do without the Bingo, I wonder if it is as beneficial to the pub as it initially seems, most of the many participants appear to drink little and go as soon as it finishes. A very good pub, though, excelent and changing choice beers on offer if a tad expensive compared to other pubs in the area. Well worth a visit, though.

A real "how beer should be" pub. Always a good selection of well kept beers, and a menu of whats coming next for anticipation on the blackboard. As commented in other reviews, the staff are efficient, very friendly and welcoming.

Always a pleasure to visit this pub. The beer is never less than excellent and the staff are superb.
Top stuff at the 'bottom' Spinners.

Currently the best pub in Adlington. The bingo on Wed evenings is not to my taste and I would avoid going in when its on but it certainly draws the punters in on what would otherwise be a quiet night. Beer is excellent and they keep a very nice pint of dark mild which seems to be unusual these days.

Good comfy pub with good real ales and a friendly clientele.
|
Certainly the best pub in the village. Adlington's a desert for decent ales otherwise.

Finally emerged in its final guise as a food and real ale pub. Well kept selection of cask beers.
