Visited again recently. Still good staff and nice pint of cider. The draught lager was off and was awful. A slip up here in what is one of Bexhills few pleasant bars. Keep away the riff-raff and swearing youngsters and I will continue to visit.

This a welcome addition to the town. No TVs showing sports or chavs with attitude. A good pint and great staff. Nice outdoor setting and ideal for more mature, quiet crowd.

Probably the nicest "pub" come seaside bar in Bexhill. New(ish) owner is really trying hard to please. Two real ales from Whites brewery on tap and in good condition. Bagettes and sandwiches at lunchtime extremely good value and very nice too. Lovely place to enjoy sun and sea air. For a different style of place with good beer try the Bell in the Old Town.

Well they did change the name of this Hotel bar to "Mistral" but it is now called The Mermaid again and it is much better, they now have real ale again and the beer was good so I may be going back more often than I did before. Very nice sitting outside when you do get nice weather!

Don't know what you've heard about the place but have tried it a number of times in the last eighteen months and my most recent visit has been most pleasant. Beer is good, food is on the up, service is improving with each visit. Would recommend.

Now called the 'Mistral' bar, but nothing else seems to have changed. Pleasant patio area outside, inside large but uninspiring. Beer (Harveys bitter) OK but expensive.
|
Positioned right on the seafront so excellent for stting outside in the summer, unfortunately it is winter at the moment and it is not so nice to sit inside and its not cheap either. Beer poor.

Stain on the carpet looked like a dog, asked barman if the place was haunted. That was back in 2006
