Open again after a sensitive refurb in the early part of the year. Not much has changed as far as i can see. Stroud brewery Tom Long was a decent pint.

My repeat visit yesterday found the pub back to normal with a good range of customers and still with 6 real ales, Fullers London Pride, Wye Valley HPA and Butty Bach, Dartmoor Jail Ale, North Cotswold Shagweaver and Bespoke Going off Half- Cocked. I tried this last one 4.6% priced at £3.00 and very nice it was too. I did fear the worst after my previous visit but my only concern now is a Punch Tavern sign looking for a new licensee. Fingers crossed that the pub continues as is.

As I walked in last night at 9.50pm the barman came to the door announcing they had closed early due to a lack of customers. I have visited several times in the past and it has always been busy. I can only assume there has been a change of landlord and if so it looks as though another change is needed. Maybe I was unlucky so in time I will try again before I condemn it completely but it would be a shame if what was such a popular pub should close for good.

Hard to find back street local down a side street that looks like an end of terrace house. Before that it was a butchers shop. Back garden is a paved patio. Quirky bits and pieces adorn the pub. I.E. a train advert for Skegness, saying, " its fucking shit". Plain Ales, Inn the Sun, £2.80 tasted fine. Re visit Wed 10 July, Hobsons Town Cryer £2.80.

Goob, basic boozer selling decent ales. Free grub on a Saturday lunch before footy. Understand it is about to be taken over, wish the new people good luck.

Thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon in the homely Kemble Inn yesterday. The landlord was extremely pleasant and welcoming to us Wimbledon fans down for the game against Cheltenham. A little bit of an effort to find but certainly worth it. Locals were friendly and talkative, beer was very good and competitively priced. Is a real credit to the landlord and is a standard many pubs should aspire to. Will be looking forward to coming here again if both teams are in the same division next season. Lovely pub.

Tucked away amongst terraced houses, this pub is well worth seeking out. Will be definately be visiting again

Did a route march in the slush to get here and my entourage had surpassed the stage of scepticism by the time we found the place but we were rewarded by a cosy pub. Cricket was on the telly, the landlord and lady were friendly. There were about 6 ales,we had the Wye Valley Butty Bach that was very good and reasonably priced.

Off the beaten track hidden away in rows of Victorian terraced houses I didn't expect much of this little pub, however I was very pleased to find that both staff and locals were very friendly, excellent real ales, a small garden and bar that feels like you are in a house that has had the walls knocked out and a bar put down the side! Well worth a detour if you are in the town. Recommended.

Very good back street pub. Excellent selection of Real Ales and well worth seeking out.

Wonderfull pub, my favourite in Cheltenham by a street! Good mix of young and old punters, really varied well kept beers and probably the friendliest pub I've ever been in!
|
Very friendly staff, and an unusual selection of local ales. A lovely place to spend a warm evening when is cold outside.

Late review from November. This is a brilliant pub. I loved it and the beers on offer too. Had a wander round as it was quiet, and it was a true local. Beer choice good, and I had a beer from Arbor. Lovely to see micro breweries around. Staff friendly and dogs entertaining.

I had to be in Cheltenham for work so, after reading earlier reviews, I took myself along here last night. I wasn't disappointed, this place is a friendly, unpretentious back-street pub with a good line in well-kept ales. The locals encouraged me to join their conversation and the excellent barmaid kept the ale flowing.

Very nice back street pub. Yesterday they had Battledown Sunbeam, Cottage Reservoir Dogs, Purity Pure Ubu, Wye Valley HPA and Doom Bar. Attractive small beer garden out the back, sandwiches at 1.50 were a bargain. Great place, will be back if we play Cheltenham again.

Very friendly, "back street" premises. Great range of beers and now good food served plus bar "nibbles". Highly Recommended!! Not far (10 minutes walk)from local Football Club.
|
A surprising find - hidden away half way along a small residential street. Very friendly staff and customers. Seriously congested: a victim of its own success! A selection of real ales, but sadly virtually no food. Just a few filled rolls all of which contained something-and-cucumber!
