Has been done up but not ponced up. Has multiple screens and all the sports channels. The bottled Young's is light ale, there's also Newcy Brown, Guinness, lager and cider.

A hark back to the days of old. Mostly old Irish in here watching the horse racing and talking of the old days/country.
Not a place I'd bring the wife but if I was with the lads on a pub crawl I would quite happily stop for a beer.
No food though.

Like others, I'm in favour of pubs that haven't been ponced up. I like the layout of this pub. Has something of a 70s feel about it. Not very busy when I was in but friendly behind the bar and the pint I had was the best I had all night �3 for Carlsberg. Didn't get any bad vibes off the locals. Sort of place where you can sit on your own with your pint, watch the footie and feel comfortable.

I'm a big supporter of unmodernised London boozers so it is with regret that I disagree with the reviews below. I found this to be quite a dull (Irish) locals' boozer - the dull interior retains little of its charm, apart from the split bar that bluejay mentions. The pub was busy on the weekday early evening I visited, but I got a distinctly unfriendly feeling from the landlady and one or two of the locals. No real ale although I did spot a bottle of Young's of some description in the fridge. Doubt I'd return.

A wonderful, unpretentious place to have a pint of beer and watch the football. It's got an interesting layout because a door pretty much splits the bar area in half. I didn't like how the snooker table is right in front of the big screen - gets in the way when you're trying to watch the football - but overall I feel comfortable in this place, it's a good local where you can drop in and not have to worry about hipsters or rip off prices. Also very clean - maybe too shiny and polished for some who are used to more cozy surroundings.

was very shocked about this pub cause heard good things about it very shocked in the presentation of the bar staff the barmaid looks like shes on crack and there is a man behind the bar who is very dirty in appearence not very hygenic at all the lager was flat and the is a terrible smell like sewers not the sort of place to have a quiet drink as the smell overpowers you the bar staff werent very helpful at all definately need to go on the customer care course

I had forgotten what a good non nonsense genuine Irish London pub (if that makes sense) was like and this smart, unpretentious boozer does the trick on most counts. True, there are no real ales, although they serve a mean pint of guinness. Having finally given up on the search for a pub to watch the football in which also happens to be an intrinsically good pub, this is the next best thing. We watched the classic 2008 Liverpool v Arsenal champions league quarter final here and the atmosphere was terrific with a cross section of the local community and frinedly service behind the bar. Enjoyable.

This is a great London pub, representing the wide ethnic origins of the local community. I only started coming here when my local ( The Trscott Arms ) shut down, and I found most of the locals I use to see in my old pub were also frequenting here. The pub has six large TV screens, and it has a great atmosphere on a football night, especially on a Champions Leagues night as it allows one to watch two games at the same time. The beer is good and the bar staff are very friendly.
