6 cask ales available, heated seating area outside. Very food oriented, but worth a visit.

Beer here many times for lunch.
The location is brilliant. The food here is excellent, at the top of the High Street. The outside area overlooks all the hustle and bustle in this busy market town.
I had mussels which were excellent. My wife a Chicken and Brie flatbread sandwich. We also had chessy chips. If you like real ale there are about 6 to choose from (including one brewed specificaly for the Farmers). Most are from local breweries.
Can be a little pricey for main meals but only been here once for dinner.

I think the last time I had a drink in here was in 1961 when I was 17 and at school locally, when there was a clientele on Thursdays which was made up of real farmers. I do remember the beer was exceptional, but time may have changed that. A sensible update would be helpful.

good position at top of the main street in town, well positioned for sitting in small beer garden at front and spying on local populace... some good lagers and local real ales. sometimes really busy and occasional dodgy music. portions of food amazingly huge, and ok tasting. converted from original tiny pub late 1990's , I liked it more before it was converted, now parts of it look a tiny bit chain pubbish.
