Plough, Wreayback to pub details please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.
This is not so much a pub as a restuarant which serves a couple of real ales. I asked for two pints of Lakeland which were served with about 1 inches of head. I asked (politely) for a top-up and was given two pints which were still well below an acceptable level, but they were dumped on the bar in front on me & I was given that look which said don't ask for any more. The beer was very good, but I was not very impressed with the service.

Nice foody pub. Went for an excellent Sunday lunch. Good service, friendly staff. Two well kept local real ales, Hawkshead Gold and Corby Ale. Recommended

i agree with inkberrow. A good sunday lunch. A nice pint of bitter as well. Hot food on warm plates. Nice and airy but with atmosphere. Clean. The church is an interesting place, well worth a visit. Like everywhere else it stops serving food at 2pm. (do not know the evening times).

An outstanding Cumbrian village pub. Set in a beautiful village just outside Carlisle with a curious church and village green (well, I had to walk my lunch off). The food was excellent and very good value for money, the beer well kept. Modernised but still keeping a village pub feel. I remember this pub from a number of years ago when it seemed trapped in the 70s and doomed to extinction. This just shows what can be done to a pub, only wish other Inns were this good.

One of the few good pub conversions I have come across, well designed farmhouse effect with real ale and good food. Within reach of other good pubs i.e. Wetheral.

Hooray! In business again after several years of closure under threat of pivate residence. Clare and Howard have rescued this lovely village pub and spared no time , effort or cost in complete refurbishment in very good taste; natural stone slab floor, local slate bar , massive oak beams ect.Excellent food of course but most important they already stock real ale- Theakstones best bitter and a weekly changing guest. Well worth a special visit, phone for directions from M6 or Carlisle N.B.closed Monday and Tuesday The Professor.
