please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

The Little Angel was my first of just two stops on my first ever visit to Whitby. It's located up the hill in the main shopping area. The in-house brewery is Crafty Monkey. They had New Gold Dream, New Era, Lady Luck Dream Catcher, German Style Pale Ale &Black Cat Porter from themselves. Guests were Roundhill Billy Town Brown, Bluestone Rockhopper & Saints Roar/Orchard Road Big Bears Brown. The cider was Old Rosie. There are 3 small seating sections around a central bar. Toilets have a very worn feel. Live music appears to be a theme. I could imagine it getting quite cramped with a band/singer on. But, a pub with character during the day.

One of the better pubs in Whitby with a good range of real ales and locals who are friendly. Bit of a rockers theme going on but don't let that put you off as there's a quiet room at the front. Well worth a visit.

Watched Aftermath rock group there last weekend. Good rock venue and just the right size. I had the base guitar stuck in my earhole. Can get a bit cramped but who cares? It all adds to the atmosphere. Nice pub.

2nd pub and its the very popular Little Angel, just a short stroll down towards town.

We entered from Flowergate straight into the main bar area with the smaller popular bar to your right.

9 hand pumps that had 6 ales on and 1 real cider. A good mix of ales from across the North. I went for a pint of Brass Castle Lifes a Beach @ 3.6%. A new brewery and ale for me...very good it was as well.

The main bar areas are carpeted with a wooden floor at the bar. Low wooden ceiling compliments the wood panelling that's on a few walls. Interesting selection of lights on the ceiling and walls, a right mish mash.

Music playing from the jukebox at a really good level that still allowed plenty of conversation.

A cracking town centre pub.

Excellent pub. Outstanding beer, the Landlord was perfect. Offers on during the week so very reasonable price wise. Loads going on every night to pull the punters in. Friendly barman, interesting locals. I love this pub.

Went in two nights on the trot. Friendly staff, good range of beers. Good juke box too. It was goth week when we went and some of the sights we saw in there were unbelievable. Some people have no shame. 4 of the women must have weighed over a 100 stone between them!

visited this pub twice while in whitby. room at front with bar & darts, big room at back with sports TV to left. Friday night rugby on, so packed out; saturday lunch called in to watch football, quite busy again. 4 cask ales Tetleys Bitter, York (Double) Chocolate, Camerons Strong Arm (I think) and Black & White (something to do with Newcastle Supporters). Tetley Bitter @ £2.70 . Not everyones taste for a pub

Good pub from where we commenced a rather long pub crawl of the town.

Tetley's ale sound. A mixed crowd in a smart enough pub. Snacks on the bar and we watched the first half of the match in 3D glasses, available to keep for 3 or to lend for a 3 deposit.

I'm reliably informed that there is now new management in place so looking forward to seeing the Little Angel getting back to its best.

This Monday it was closed when I tried it at 21:00 although a board said "open at 6".Is it in trouble?

Unfortunately, the pints we had in this pub did smell and taste pretty vile. It's a shame, because the lady behind the bar was lovely and I liked the pub itself. My advice is to drink bottles in here.

The pub was very quiet when 12 of us visited on a Sunday evening, but there was real ale and friendly service. Some regulars were playing cards in the bar.

The beer was clear and at the right temperature so I'm not sure why there weren't more patrons. Perhaps it suffers from its proximity to the Elsinore.

It's an average pub but not a bad one.

Went in there on Tuesday evening and had a pint of Adnams. Was thirsty so took a big swig and within 3 minutes I had to go to the toilet and feel sick, went back to the bar and smelt the beer and it was rank.Sorry but with a pint like that I would never like to go there again as it has put me right off.

Visited twice over the weekend, in the day and evening. It is a large place, with the exterior having a nice white rendered look, with Georgian style windows. The interior is open plan, with a tv area. It has a wood floor and thick white artex, which, as another comment says, gives a 70s feel. The service was ok, clientele mixed in dress as in age - a Goth and rock kind of place.

Sadly, the beer was simply the usual stuff, with Tetley and Adnams Bitters on handpull, so no wow factor there. All in all, after latest trip, i would bother only for the fact that the Elsinore was over the road.

The pub was very quiet when we visited, but there was real ale and friendly service. Would be more than happy to visit again

I forgot to say exactly what I liked about this pub - like the Elsinore across the road, it is like a pub from the 1970s and I mean that in a positive way. It gives the pub a quirky charm.

Another good Whitby pub. A Goth meeting place during the Halloween Weekend, but a friendly pub with great beer. One to return to, and I am not a Goth.

A bit too bright for a Friday evening, but a good pint of Broadside.

One of three in Whitby to offer real cider (Old Rosie).

A pleasant enough pub, usually the first port of call when heading into town. Quite a traditional pub with a good selection of beers.Never had a problem with service. Nowt to complain about really..
